Florida Secures SEC Title, Mississippi State Falls

0:00On March 4th, Florida crushed Mississippi State 108-74 in Gainesville, locking up the outright southeastern conference. Regular season title. The Gators improved to 24 wins and six losses overall, 15-2 in conference play. They already had the top seed in the conference tournament, and this win came right after Alabama fell to Georgia, ending any chance of a shared, crown. Mississippi State jumped out to a double-digit lead early, firing on all cylinders with their best offense in weeks. But Florida woke up fast, ripping off an 18-to-nothing run over six minutes to take control, and never look back. The Bulldogs fought to stay close at times, but couldn't match the Gators' pace in the second half, as the lead ballooned to 17 at halftime, and kept growing. The Gators handled the blowout without their leading score. Thanks to Alex Condon's 26 points on 12 of 19 shooting, X, Lee added 19 before fouling out, and four other Florida players hit double figures.
