Florida Gators Clinch SEC Title

0:00On March 15th, the fifth ranked Florida Gators clinched the South Eastern Conference regular season title with a convincing 1-18, 74 win over Mississippi State on Tuesday. It was a true team effort, especially with our star player Thomas Howe, who sat out as a precaution. Xavier and Lee led the way for Florida, scoring 19 points while adding 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. The senior also hit a big milestone, surpassing 1,500 career points across his time at Princeton and Florida. Micah Handlock and stepped up big in Haaspot, nearly getting a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Six Gators scored in double figures, including Alex Condon, with a game-high 26 points. Others like Ruben Chignelou, Boogie Flan and Irving Claves are each had 10. The bench contributed to, showing the depth that carried them through without their top score. Florida's 3-point shooting clicked, making 8 from deep with contributions from 6 different players, including freshman CJ Ingram, who drained, 2 and added 3 assists.

1:04Coach Todd Golden praised Ingram for stepping up when called upon, calling his first half plus 21 impact, fantastic. With Howe expected back for Saturday's game against Kentucky, the Gators head into the post season on a high note, writing strong team play and balanced scoring.
