The guard hit his 280-second make and the final regular season home game against Wisconsin on March 7th. That edged out Carson Edwards' longtime mark of 201 from back in the late 2000s. He tied the record with a three-pointer at the 10-minute 52-second mark. Then, with just one-minute 24 seconds left, Lawyer drained one from the right corner to take the lead for good. Fans at Mackie Arena saw a shooter who arrived ready to deliver. In his debut on November 8th, 2022 against Milwaukee, the freshman dropped 17 points on 5-3s to lead a win. Lawyer's numbers shine brighter than the old mark. He reached 282 makes on only 695 tries, hitting 40.6%. That's better than Edwards' 36.8% over 763 attempts.
