Calgary thought they had the go ahead goal soon after, but another challenge killed it and the third period stayed scoreless, forcing overtime. In overtime, Zerry drew a penalty, but the Flames power play came up empty, sending it to a shootout. Joel Fairby scored first, and Matveg gridden sealed the victory with a sharp top corner shot.
