First Ring Daily 1933: Xbox Did a Good

Xbox is gonna do a good thing and I only took them many many years but they're gonna do a good thing. I'm I'm excited about this change that they're gonna do here.

Yeah, I remember this being a big didn't you have a game that like completely failed because of this or something? It's called the call of duty is awful with a quick resume.

So they're finally going to give us the option to disable quick resume with any title you want. It's fine for single player games, but for games where you're like in a session state like a multiplayer lobby.

Yeah, it just doesn't really work. And so

I was very excited about that. Yeah, per game quick resume is like

S mode needed a an exception, you know, like I'm okay with being an S mode, but let me run Google Chrome or whatever you know at the time. And it's like

Microsoft. You never just never did it. I don't know why. And yeah, it only took them only took them a new CEO, we're gonna bang. We're gonna bang this on Phil Spencer's head. He was the holdout for that. I

just don't wait. It doesn't matter. It's coming and I think it's in the alpha preview, whatever and eventually I'm guessing it's next month. Maybe this month's update. Yeah, yeah.

So that's it. Yeah, this feature they'd be with Xbox one or the next series. I think it was a series S and X thing.

Okay, I think it was because quick resume utilized the storage speed. Yeah, the old one had spinning. Right, which was a big part of the

controversy there because you had to have a specific type of storage. And it was expensive. It had to be

quick. Yeah. Yeah.

So yeah, they did a good thing. I was very

very excited about this. That's what told me back on my life throughout. That's why I'm not a billionaire. I don't think that's it. You know, you could have just leaned into it, but yeah, you know what? Now your dreams are there.

well, no, I mean, I this is kind of hard to explain, but like, obviously, if you're in an organization, they can, you know, configure your computer however, but like, if you just because I review a lot of these things and I reset them, you know, if you have like a, like a business class laptop and you sign in with like a Microsoft account, you get Microsoft 365 Teams by default down sort of like, I'm sorry, Microsoft 365 co-pilot as opposed to co-pilot, like, you don't actually have the co-pilot up on the laptop.

Like, you have the Microsoft 365 version. And it's like, guys, I, it was a period of time when like, both were the default, like, you would have both on a stock install Windows 11. And it's like, why? There's a reason, like, I, I almost say this, I mean, no one the answer, but it's like, why would you have two clients for this thing?

And, but they do. And I don't know, maybe they won't, you know, because I don't know, I still, like, the team's client in Windows, I use, you know, for team's false, right? Like, I don't use it other way, like, I don't, I mean, that's not obvious. But I mean, like, if some other company or person that is using teams for meeting, like, at least it's there, and I can use it, but like, you know, there's a period of time where that wasn't really.

But organizing soccer practice on teams for consumer.

I try to stay away from teams as much as possible.

But more importantly, the, the prongs that go into the wall can be swapped out.

And they had a little pack for, they have a version that has the one for England

and the one for Paris.

So that way I can just take and it even came a nice little felt bag, like crown royal

does, like that little Mac thing.

In other words, you have a single charger that can charge people probably be like two or

three things that it's on usually, but including a laptop.

So it should be, I'm not taking a laptop, only taking an iPad.

But you know what I'm saying?

I mean, no, no, it could, it's, it'll do up to 100 watt.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I got two of these things and that should be enough

ports for the whole family because I've got three things.

My wife has two things and my kid has 94 things.

This is pretty smart on stuff, but like when the kids were little, sometimes you

It's actually fun to look at her photos, because especially when she was real

little, because we're all like different.

The goal is not to destroy things because they were brand new pants.
