That blazing nighted on January 7, 2025, and the hills near Pacific Palisades in Malibu, killing 12 people and causing massive destruction. Sanders claim Rindernect lit a fire on January 1 that smoted underground and root systems before exploding a week later. He has pleaded not guilty and spent 150 days behind bars since his indictment in October. His team argues he is taking the blame for shortcomings by the Los Angeles Fire Department and putting out the initial flames. The fire ravaged hillside neighborhoods and highlighted risks in wildfire prone areas. A battalion chief testified he inspected the burn area four times that day and believed everything was extinguished.
