FF: Talk vs. Action
There is a big difference between what someone says and what they do. The legislators might tell you that they have saved you 3 billion dollars. They won't mention that this savings is spread over 10 years after they already increased what you pay over the last year by 3 billion. So did you really save anything? The Auditor might report that they do not have a backlog of tax disputes, but if there are 4509 complaints pending, how accurate is that statement? People can say that they want to stop government waste, fraud, and abuse, but are they taking actions to help make that happen? Today we talk about politicians, property taxes, Proposition 13 in California, and where our taxes go. We also talk about audits, accountability, and taking simple actions to protect yourself and make the world a better place!

00Welcome to the Real Power Family Radio Show, brought to you by Family Success Triangle. Where we talk about how we achieved financial freedom in two years, by the time we were 30. If we can do it, so can you. We will bring you the people who can help you achieve financial freedom, time freedom, and location freedom. Learn how we integrated our business, investing, and homeschooling into everyday life. Now, here is the Real Power Family, Eric, Lila, Devon, anything. Welcome to the Real Power Family Radio Show. I'm your host, Derek, for one whole family is here today, and we are going to talk about while talking and then doing. Devon, you just retaught a lesson in a nuts and a nice way because you chose to ignore your responsibilities more or less. So you can say it any way you want, but do you understand that when you get a bank statement,
01you need to open it up, look at it, and then fix it in the computer. Do you understand that you need to file it away? So if we ever need it for an audit or anything else, everything isn't good order. No, yes. And do you understand how miserable your grandmother was for the entire month of January and half of February, because she threw everything into a shoe box, kind of like you throwing everything in the front of your file cabinet, not even opening the envelopes. You took me years to break her of that. I just won't tolerate that. And Ethan, what was your response to your Devon, to your brother, not reconciling as accounts and keeping all of his papers in good order? How did you manage to get that to go for like three years if I heard that correctly? I spent like multiple days trying to help our grandmother get her stuff, so I don't know. And Lila, have I not always told you from the moment we got married, your disorder and clutter is going to hurt you in life.
03Yes, which is why my goals for the year is to get better organized. And you see, it's been one of your goals for every year for the last 10 or 15 years. Right. But how much action am I taking this year in comparison to previous years? Okay, your desk is probably the best it's ever been. I would say last year, literally after being married for 25 years, last year was the first year you actually cleaned up your desk. But it was, if you have clutter all over your desk, if you have clutter all over your digital desktop, that is just as bad. Well, no, everything's easy to find is right that no, it's not. I have to dig three files deep, but I always know exactly where to go to find everything. If it's for this company, I look in that company. If it's a receipt, I look in the receipt file. If it's an invoice, I look in the invoice file. I mean, everything is exactly where it should be and it's saved by the year and by the date. Well, and you even told me that if what's around you is disorganized, your mind will be disorganized.
07And it's interesting because when I set myself to organizing a certain area, whenever I get done with that, like I just look around and it drives me crazy that some other area isn't perfect. So it's interesting that it doesn't even take that long. The shift is quite rapid and unless you go back to accepting the clutter and then your mind goes back to that. So it's like, it's got to be a constant thing. And we've got to be on ourselves to like do better every single day because if we don't, we're going to fall back into the clutter and the disorganization. And I'm sure Paul or another fix teacher could correct me on this. But the bottom line is, I think it's the first law of entropy is that everything moves towards greater disorder. If you don't believe that, look at your son's room or your daughter's room. The odds are without the import of the mom or dad saying, clean your room kid. It's going to get more and more disordered over time or at least until I decide to get sick of my room not being clean enough and go and spend a day cleaning it or something along those lines.
07And that's taken a while for both of us, Devon. It has, but you guys never would have got there if I weren't on you about keeping your books and records straight because how you do anything, Ethan, is how you do everything. And so if you can clean up your desktop, I learned that, you know, through horror and peach potentials, that the easiest way, if you're incredibly angry, you cannot make a good decision when your emotions go up, your intelligence goes down. And if you start making decisions based on your feelings or emotions at the time, it really can screw a lot of stuff up. And so how do you change your emotion? You can force yourself to smile even though you're angry. Maybe you're angry at the world. You're angry at God because something terrible happened. You're angry at yourself. If you want to blame others, force yourself to smile when you're sick and you're worn down and you're weak and you're exhausted, you say, I have unlimited energy.
10If you can change one part of you, and I did that whenever the kids, especially Ethan, he got very emotional. So I would break him out of the anger by changing his physical state, because I knew I couldn't affect his mental state. If I just told him, Hey, you need to be happy. You need to accept this. Well, he's the young boy and I am the dad. Of course he's not going to listen to me. So I didn't say I said, fine, do push ups. I don't think that helped me get out of an unhappy state, but okay. Ah, but it combed you to it, it channeled your physical aggressions into something else. It just gave me something to do and it gave you time to stop and think. My mom used to tell me count to 10 or count to 10 and then count backwards from 10. And sometimes maybe I needed a hundred or a thousand and not 10. Sometimes I just go for a walk around the block. I needed that physical change. But the bottom line is if you cannot control your finances,
13it's probably because you're making emotional decisions. And if you want to get better organized with your finances, start by cleaning your desk, start by emptying out your email, start by unsubscribing to a hundred different junk emails that you don't need to hit trash on every day because maybe once a month, they send you something that's useful in reading. And Lila, how long did it take me to convince you to do that? You're like, no, no, no, I might miss something. Oh, you have 2000 emails. Trust me a long time thing already. Yeah, exactly. And that's it. It's a hard lesson to learn. But once you start getting there, it does get better. And then you understand why you were doing it to start with. But sometimes it takes that push and Eric's right. He was the really uber organized one when we got together. And I was the exact opposite. And so the habit of becoming more and more organized is getting me better and better results. And the more clean, the more you organize, you clean and organize.
15Have you noticed that when your desk is cleaned off, then you feel cluttered when your desk top on the computer is all messed up? Yes. And I don't go looking through your stuff, Devin, but I needed to find a checkbook to send with you. And I opened up and right there in all the front was all this trash. Which could have been important, but it needed opened and figured out. And before that, it was in your inbox. It was just sitting there. So we will talk moving a pile of junk from one area to another is not cleaning. Despite the fact that two years ago, I would have said that was because I just threw everything in my closet. It is not. And I have since then cleaned out my closet, at least one of them. I stuff to do the other one. I was probably worse off than you by jamming everything in my closet when I was your age. So I was as bad as anybody. And I think the army broke me on that habit to keep things in exactly the right order. Now I can't even handle it. If on the boot rack, my boots are in the wrong order.
18They have to go from tall combat boots or work boots to the short, you know, work boots, yeah, the dress boots to the dress shoes to the running shoes, to the shower shoes, just maybe it's just because I'm too OCD. And maybe people need a little bit more OCD in their life. So if you're out there like, Oh, well, I'm different. The doctor said I have this problem. I'm telling you OCD 80 HD, these are not problems. These are things that can make you significantly better. I think that's a mindset thing. I don't see it as a problem. I see it as I do things in a different way. In fact, I'm rather happy. I have it. My shoes are kind of spread out because all my work stuff is outside. My my nice shoes aren't here, but if I had one order, I'd probably have it organized my work boots, then my my work shoes, then I have my dress boots and my good shoes and I'm not saying things organized. You have the clean, you know, dress up or normal stuff. And then you have your work stuff.
19I'm not saying that there's a right way to organize what I am certain of is if you do not have some type of organization, then your workplace will be cluttered and you'll be inefficient, whether you're a carpenter or a brain surgeon. You have got to cleave that sterile, area sterile, clear. You've got to have exactly the right instruments on the table. It doesn't matter what you do. If you need a number 10 scalpel and they hand you 11, well, you might not be able to cut the right way because it's too pointy. If you need a drill and all you have is a circular saw, you might not be able to cut what you want out of the board. And if you are working in a business office, the same things apply. Don't try and do everything with the computer or the cell phone when a sticky note might be what you really need, but don't have sticky notes hanging all over your computer in the ceiling. So you can find phone numbers because that might not be the best way to
21organize it. Not that I'm referring to any of my original mentors, Larry, at all. The bottom line is we all have our own way. And if we can find a way to really get that organized and not just say, no, clutter is what makes me happy. It's not the most efficient way. Open up, be willing to try new things and figure out what really works. And you can do better and more with your life. We will come back and I have more tips on, well, how some of the auditors of Ohio could be making their life better right after this break every parent wants their kids to be successful. And today's world, getting them the right knowledge to do this can be a challenge. My husband and I decided to homeschool our kids and give them a financial and real world education rather than making them memorize things they would probably never use. Our results are kids who became financially free before they could drive with no money or credit from us. Now at 16 and 13, they co-host our real power family radio show and
26Devon is in his 30 year of college. How can you give your kids a head start like this? Check out our book, Family Success Triangle, which outlines the lessons we taught our kids. We want you to achieve amazing results at any age. Get your copy of Family Success Triangle on Amazon today. And be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel at real power family and listen to the real power family radio show Monday through Friday at 7 a.m. on the brushwood media network. Welcome back to the real power family radio show today. We were talking about organization and Eric, you were just talking about you know something that would make the auditors life or Devon, did you want to add in here? I don't exactly have anything that, although I could think of some other government agencies that with the amount of paperwork they've lost, it would be a lot better if perhaps they had some organization as well. Just a while or maybe it's better if they keep losing the paper. But some of the papers that shouldn't lose, we've talked about the board of revision hearings and how you need to apply.
26And like January, the deadline might be March, but I always do it in January. Do you know that right now we got a half a million people in Ohio that are delinquent in property taxes? We've talked about that before. And if you look at just one county, man, I didn't write this down. I think it was Kyahoga County. They, uh, they're talking about all of these awesome tax bills. Hey, uh, you abolish taxes people. You need to lay off because we're making great progress. We have 85 bills out there. You only passed six of them. Technically you had four other provisions in your budget, but the governor line item vetoed all of them. So none of that happened. It wasn't until people like not many of them, but one or two of them actually started to believe, oh, look, there's a petition to abolish all property taxes. Maybe we should actually pay lip service. And it's a total clutter. They got all these bills out there, but they're not passing anything. And by the time they finally passed something, they're like, oh, we'll look at
30how much good we did. Now they'll definitely back up. No, we're not backing off. You did nothing good for us and the people that can read these things. The auditor's saying, well, we don't really know how this is going to fit. Everybody's different, every school district's different. The bottom line is they did nothing good for the citizens. Don't believe me any more than you believe the legacy media when they write these great articles that make them sound great. Look at your tax bill. Tell me, did your taxes go down from last year? No, no, they did not. Because even if they would have done something for you, they didn't do it in time. And now their excuses will just wait till the second half tax bill comes out. After the second half tax bill, we need to get all the signatures collected before your second half taxes come out. Well, and you got to look at the results they're already getting. Kyohoga County here in Ohio, alone is 41,000 homeowners behind on their property taxes for the second half of last year, seven percent haven't paid the first half.
30So how many people are behind in just that county, but they, nothing's going to be in time. And I think that's the county. This is four. They say that they say they don't have. They deny having any backlog of cases when, in fact, just last week, there's 4,500 and nine original complaints that are pending. There's over 4,500 complaints in one county, but we're not backlogged. Well, I got to tell you, whatever problems I have with Stark County, uh, you know, Angela, our new auditor, we've got a couple of commissioners there. I've always been impressed with how well they have made it through the board of revisions. So we generally agree because I'm not greedy. I don't try and go in and say, Oh, this is ridiculous. You got to drop it. I look at the actual comps. I don't think it's fair. I don't think I should pay $30,000 for a house. And a couple of years later, be paid taxes, literally ever on anything. Why should I have to pay sales tax? I pay transfer tax when I buy it.
31Why should I pay property tax, which is kind of like sales tax again based on its new value on unrealized capital gains every six months. That seems ridiculous to me. But at least, like I said, Stark County is moderately fair. There are some things they just completely disregard like what you bought in an auction. Yeah, I see that as the ultimate arms length sale. But they don't count that at all. Still, they do push through. So kudos to them pushing through the border revisions and they have always got it done in the first year. And we got a pile of, uh, returns back after my border of revisions were done. And since they had such a major, a 40% increase, a lot more people disputed last year. And that's why it took so long, but they were still done. You look at this other county, there's 3,812 residential complaints and only 980 are scheduled for hearings. So what's that like? Not even a quarter are scheduled for hearings about a quarter.
33We've got 697 commercial complaints with only 250. Have hearing sketch. So when Stark County, all my hearings are done and decisions are back for all of them, but here they say we don't have a backlog. I know Columbus, when we filed down there, they were a year or two behind. So we got this 81 year old. And I mean, I, I hope he's in good health. I do not want to say anything bad, but here's just 81 year old. When you're 81, you got to be thinking, I'm not sure I'm going to be around in five more years. I mean, if you look, like I said, hopefully this guy's in great health and great shape, I don't want to jinx it. But they said, oh, yeah, your taxes went way up. We haven't got around to it. He goes, I could have been paying for things I need, like electricity and food. And you know, repairs with this money, but I had to pay it last year. Now you're telling me I got to pay again this year because you haven't even heard my complaint and like, but don't worry, you'll get a refund. What good is it if you're over 80 and get a refund two years later and you're
35already dead and even if you aren't 80, even if you're my age. So you're saying I have to give you an interest free loan for two years. Why? Because you just didn't get around to my dispute saying that you shouldn't have been able to take this money to begin with. The bottom line is, I don't care if your desks are too cluttered. I don't care if there's too many complaints. This is ridiculous. If we file a complaint, I mean, the whole tax on unreliced capital gains is so ridiculously bad to begin with. But if you are going to do that and you're like, well, we'll just kick this out for a couple of years because I'm horrible and inefficient at my job. No, if I file a complaint and you don't have that handled within a reasonable time, which is absolutely before my second half tax bill comes out, then it should just automatically be lowered to whatever I think it's worth. You didn't have time to prove.
36I thought I was innocent until proven guilty, but instead you arbitrarily raise my taxes and then I have to dispute to bring them down. I have to pay all those taxes until I get a court date, which by the way, I go to court against the same people that raised my taxes, the order, the board of commissioners, the people that get the money. And they get to decide whether I get to pay, whether they were right to begin with or I can pay a little bit less. And if they don't get around to hearing this, then they just keep to, get to keep collecting the money. And if I go into default because I'm trying to pay my electric bill and buy food, then I can lose my home and oops, it's already sold. Nothing we can do for you. So this is what's going on and why it's so important to sign our petition and for every other state out there to start something of their own. We need to go about it in 50 different ways. We need to have 50 different leaders figure out which way works because
39taxing senior citizens out of homes that they have already paid the mortgage off on is so un-American. It's just unbelievable. And anyone I think would be right. It's such a wild violation, you know, unreasonable fines in the eighth amendment and seizing your property from the fourth amendment. It's just this is so unconstitutional. I don't know how it ever got through and we need to stop it. So please go to Axe Ohio Tax. Help me, Ethan. Is it dot com? Axe OH tax dot com. Axe Ohio tax dot com. Find where you can sign this petition. Because they say they pass laws and they say this will fix everything. No, it won't. If you're living in a rental, your taxes are actually going to go up over the next handful of years. It is set in stone that even if prices don't go up, they already increase. They took away a 10% deduction. So renters are second class citizens again, just like in our Supreme Court case.
45If you are renting, you need to run out and register to vote now. So you can have a say because you can not sign this petition or your signature won't count unless you're a registered voter. And we need people to open up their eyes. There is no reason that 40 to 50% of some of these big cities are renters. And what a very, very small percentage of them will ever have a say. If you think your vote doesn't count, you're right. It absolutely does not, especially if you don't vote. And if you want your vote to count, well, there's only one way to do that is to actually go in and vote. And that's, I just think it's despicable that they're saying, oh, we don't even have a backlog. And yet they haven't even scheduled a quarter of the cases from a year ago. And now they have what, maybe a third of the counties in Ohio, dramatically increasing taxes again. And they're like, oh, it'll be okay. Well, look at your taxes. Don't believe me anymore than you believe them. Look at the tax bill and tell me, did anything the Ohio legislature do?
48Help you out? Are you paying just as much as before, which included a massive increase sometime in the last two years? Or did it go up again massively this year? Because every three years they go up and about a third of the counties are each on a different one, a three year cycle. So look at the facts and not what they say or want you to believe. We'll be right back. Ethan, you're known for being the youngest teenager on the real power family radio show on the Brushwood Media Network. You're also known for being quite successful and you're only 15. How'd you do that? Well, you've always taught me to buy more hard assets faster. And one of those hard assets that I've bought is the real power family silver round from American Gold Exchange. Get your real power family silver rounds by going to AMERgold.com or calling 806139323. Welcome back to the real power family radio show. We are talking about property taxes. And before we went to break, well, yeah, property taxes.
52Make sure you go to AXOHtax.com to sign the petition or find a place to sign the petition. Where do we want to go next? Mom and I had some numbers. I think she brought up some of hers. But I was watching a video that you sent me, dad. And one of the things I found interesting is in just the six biggest cities in Ohio, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Akron, Toledo, and Dayton, there are around 279,000 houses that are delinquent on their property taxes. And this is an older video. So that it might be more than that. It might be closer to 300,000. And that's just six cities, which is the biggest six half a million. It only makes up 20% of Ohio. So, you know, 20% if you times that by five, that's what 1.3 something million possible, which, you know, let's say conservative guests still around a million people, maybe well, if you look to a lot more people live there. So you have to factor in not the land mass or the area, but the population.
54Well, that's what I said. It's 20% population. Oh, it is 20% of the popular. Okay. Yeah. So yeah, we're at well over at least a half a million delinquent. And it could be as much as a million or slightly over. And it's so funny. They passed these laws, but they said, Oh, well, you just can't get it because we have three months before it takes effect and then two months for the auditors to make a change. Well, couldn't they have done that concurrent? Oh, didn't they see the didn't the auditors see this past three months ago? So, you know, maybe we should go in and start updating. And then we take our two months. So when we send out the first half tax bills that are coming due very soon, they're more accurate. No, they can't do that because then the citizens will see that their taxes absolutely didn't go down at all. Have you noticed how many time I even stood up and spoke to Alliance City Council when they were trying to pass this? I said, look, you guys have been dragging this on for months. So do not get in there and say this is an emergency. That's how North can't did it.
54They passed it as an emergency. Nobody had any chance to get in and dispute, which is why they get to collect the fees from inspections, just another tax on tenants and landlords. They collect all those fees and they know it's going to take three years to get to the Supreme Court. So now they've taxed everybody there. And I think the only right way to do it is, you know, if we win, not only should every single person get all of their money, they ever paid for this back, but any fines that were generated should be returned. I think it should be double. I mean, literally, that's, I mean, it was kind of set forth in the Bible that if you make false witness or cited it, I don't know exactly. But basically they said, if you go out and attack somebody and want something and you're proven wrong in court, then you should pay twice as much. Is that a good summation, boys? Yeah. That makes sense. I don't remember that part, but that makes sense. And if we literally enforce things like that in the American justice system,
56it's one of the few places on earth that anybody can sue me for anything. Oh, look, he's got money. Let's sue him. If they lose, there's no repercussions. Sometimes they don't even, I don't even get the court fees that it costs me to defend myself. That's why so many things set a lot of court because it costs more to defend than it does to just pay people off. And that's why insurance is so high because they always just pay people off rather than actually standing up for what's right because it's cheaper to write them a check. And I think that if the cities are doing this and they're passing something that just obviously inconstitutional, I mean, their whole thing stems from one Supreme Court case totally violating the Ohio Constitution, like that's their whole defense. And while I believe that that court case, Camarine, it's turned over. Even if we don't do it, we at least are protected by the Ohio Constitution. And when the city of North Canis found wrong, they should immediately have to give back
56everything. I'd say twice as much because if not, look at the fines JP Morgan got for. They make a billion dollars and they get a hundred million dollar fine. Do you think that's really going to stop them from doing the same thing again? No. If I only have to pay 10% and kickbacks to the government, yeah, I'd rob them beforehand with 10%. And if they get caught, they find me guilty and I get another 10%. I'm still up 80%. Why not just keep breaking the law? Why not just keep doing what we know is wrong? So this, you know, the way they always declare everything with an emergency when it suits them, but they let it string out as long as they can when it would be beneficial to us. These are the things, these are the games they're playing with our property, Texas right now. And I'm just, I'm tired of it. We go back to, I think it was yesterday, show more people need to stand up. I mean, even the auditors are admitting, oh, well, Texas might go down for some people, but the auditors don't know yet. Well, what good are these changes in the laws?
56If the auditors don't, you know, it's going on. Oh, what do you think, Lila? I think more people need to be standing up against the whole idea of property tax. You know, if they want to fund schools, there are ways to do that that are completely separate from charging it, property taxes. But nobody seems to want to have that conversation in the legislature. It's interesting. And that's what they should be doing right now. Here's my advice to the auditors and the legislature. You need to start looking and say, Hey, there's a lot of people that are really upset by this. And we're going to get our signatures or we're not. If we get the signatures, then it's going to be on the ballot. If we don't, then we're going to keep working at it. And it's eventually going to be on the ballot. And when it gets on the ballot, there's a better than average chance that it's going to pass. So why don't you start now? You have had more than adequate time to prepare for how you're going to replace all that. Nobody in Ohio is clamoring. I don't know why the Republicans want to get rid of the income tax, a two per three percent income tax,
58two percent. I don't care. Okay. Most people that really doesn't affect that much. Why are you so adamant about getting rid of the income tax in Ohio? When people are really upset, they're really getting abused by these property taxes. Why don't we focus on the real pain of your constituents? And forget about your pet projects, you've been wanting to get done. So there's one thing, quick getting rid of the income tax. I wouldn't even care if it went up to five percent if we didn't have property taxes. And I'm like, oh, all we could do is raise sales tax like 20 percent. Well, I think that is despicable. But at least you can decide whether you want to buy something and pay sales tax or not. So there's my suggestion to the government. Maybe somebody will actually hear it and bring it up in some subcommittee somewhere in a dark room that I'm not invited to. We'll be back in just a minute. Brushwood, medium network. Have you ever loved one benefacted by inflation? Yes.

And yet politicians like you were talking about dead seemed like they're not very focused on what people actually want and would rather this what's the term that people use a dog and pony show? Is that the thing? That's the true. Yeah, we did that in the army a lot. We get out there and exertor or we make a show of force so it actually have to do anything. Here are the auditors are claiming, hey, we don't know what's going to happen. Well, I did some research. So let me give you the numbers that I didn't think were that hard to figure out.
00The headline news in the legacy media says property taxes across Ohio, it's awesome. We're going to save you three billion dollars. Well, that's a total lie that three billion dollars is calculated based on many years of savings. Do you truly believe that they're going to hold your taxes where they are and not make you pay three billion over the next 10 years or do you think maybe they'll give you a 2% decrease this year? And next year a couple of years or another week, oh, you get another 2% decrease. But by the way, your property value went up 25%. So the net is, you know, a 10% increase in property taxes. There's no way we're paying three billion less as a matter of fact. Just from last year to this year, property tax receipts have increased from 21 billion to 24 billion. Sounds to me like a three billion dollar increase and not a decrease. How about you, Devon? Yeah, that does seem like it's a lot more that they're collecting and not less.
04So when they say we're saving you this way, they always say how much you could save over 10 years. The same thing for the federal budgets. They always say, oh, well, some of these things don't even take effect until after these people are out of office. So you know, they're not going to actually work. We're like, oh, this will save us trillions of dollars in the long road. We'll never get to the long run. They're always going to change it before that. Let's see, Ohio charged real property owners. So real estate taxes, 21 billion in 2024 and 24 billion for the 25 year. That's where I'm getting these numbers. So anybody should be able to figure out how to look that up. Another law passed. Locke County's can remember, this is like an option. What's the definition of an option, Devon? You have the choice of whether or not to do it, right? Right. So you have the right, but not the obligation to do it. Local counties, they can reduce the burden on their senior citizens and homeowners.
04Well, that's the way it's written. Does that mean it doesn't apply? They don't have any choice. They're not allowed to decrease it on renters because it specifically says they can reduce it on senior citizens. Well, what if you're a homeowner, not a senior citizen? What if you're a senior citizen living in a rental property? What if you actively still pay taxes and you're earning an income living in a rental property? Sounds to me like those people don't count. Oh, and by the way, they can't redo, they don't have to. Most of them, most of the local counties, they have already decided not to take any action because the state hasn't given them any money to make them whole. So the like, by the way, you can charge less than property taxes if you want. And they're like, well, if we cut, you know, $100 off of property taxes for this guy, are you sending us that $100? The state said, well, no, we don't have any mechanism to do that. So they said, well, we can't lower. Even though they just got a 40% raise last year, we can't actually lower anything
06unless you're going to make us whole. This is literally one of the laws they've had. One of those six laws that's going to make our world great again, Lila. So what you're telling me is they're ignoring the fact that they could actually be cutting costs. God forbid, we ask them to do that. Yeah. So they got a 30% raise. They just got this year. Only nine. There's 88 counties in Ohio. Only nine shows to help their citizen. 79 of them are like, now we're keeping all the money. So I'm glad we gave them a choice. And kudos, I would literally read out the names of the nine that decided to make it a little bit better, but really nine out of 88. So 10% of the counties decided to do what was right and help their citizens. And how many of them are going to run for reelection? Oh, we know what someone failure pants so much in property taxes. I'm going to fight against that. All, if I get elected, I'll introduce another bill to add to the 80 some that are already out there. So we can talk about it and have discussions and wait till it's too late. And then stick in an amendment at the end that takes away even more than we
10gave you. And that's literally what they have done with all of these bills. And again, just wait till you see your taxes. It should be coming out. If anybody gets a tax bill in Ohio, it's like, wow, this is way better. I would love to know what kind of you from and how much did it go down from last year. Because there are a couple that might actually go down. The 20 mil floor thing. That was good, but it's going to only affect a handful of people. It's not across the board. It's nothing like tell us about proposition. And I'm sorry, I think I called this proposition three before. It's 13 proposition 13 in California, right, Lila? Correct. That's proposition 13 from California sets limits on property taxes. It's a 1% cap on the tax rate and a 2% maximum annual increase. And the reassessment is only when a property is sold or new construction is completed. So they have caps on a lot of different things. So for all the problems California has, who does to them for at least having this in place? And you know, if Ohio would have passed that 10 years ago,
13we never would have started collecting signatures. But these last four years, I think it's been four years since they grossly started increasing property values, that's what killed them. Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered. And unless you're going to roll everything back five years, and every year that goes on, it's got to go longer. Because of these dramatic and outrageous increases. And unless you roll it back to what we actually paid for the property, no matter how long ago it was, that can't even help us now. Too many people are already delinquent saying, oh, well, you don't have to, we'll give you a loan. It doesn't matter. I'm going to get taxed on my unrealized capital gains again next year. How am I supposed to pay these unless I sell the property? They are forcing you out of your properties. And that's why we have so much backing behind, you know, abolishing all property taxes. Because none of the legislators even represented Thomas, who we thought was a great hope. He's not trying to decrease anything. He just wants to rob Peter to pay Paul.
15He just wants to move it around. He doesn't want to decrease any of the taxes. And he doesn't even want to disperse it out and lower property taxes to make it more fair by charging maybe sales tax, or literally any other tax that's based on something we have a choice over. He wants to keep it all on property taxes and just give a teeny bit of relief to homeowners and maybe senior citizens and tax the heck out of renters. Because I don't know why, because they don't vote, because they don't contribute to a campaign, because they don't have a strong enough block to talk about this. That is why it cost you so much in rent because of the property taxes. All right, let's take a quick break and we will be back to wrap up. I have a couple more things. Oh, on a global level to talk about. We'll be right back. Hi, this is Eric Wolland from the Real Power Family and best-selling author of Family Success Trangle. Learn how my wife and I became financially free by the time we were only 30 and how we taught these secrets to our kids
17so they could do the same without any of our money or credit when they were just teenagers. Pick up a copy of our book, Family Success Trangle, available on Amazon today. And don't forget to tune in to the Real Power Family Radio Show. Weekdays at 7 a.m. Eastern on the Brushwood Media Network. Welcome back to the Real Power Family Radio Show. Before you went to break, Dan said he has a couple more things to talk about on a global level this time. Yeah, do you guys have anything else on property and taxes, Lila? I got a way for them to fund the schools. How about we get rid of all this fraud from daycares that don't actually have any kids and give half back to the citizens and use the other half to pay for the schools? I bet that would do it. Hey, why was I paying during COVID? It's too dangerous not that I care. I mean, I think it was actually probably the best thing ever to not have kids indoctrinated during them and a lot of the kids who don't have parents that teach them like we teach ours. Their kids are going ideas where it's scarred for life but they're really hurting. They're absolutely year behind.
17And lower education means lower wages for life. It means, and I'm not talking about not going to school for you. I'm talking about when they have these stupid ideas that they teach in school. When you lose the STEM principles, the things you actually go to school to learn means you make less money and making less money is directly correlated. If it's not causal, it's correlated to having a shorter lifespan. Did you guys all know that? I did not. Yeah, the richer you are, statistically speaking, you're more likely to get better medical care, eat healthier foods, less McDonald's, pop and potato chips and stuff like that. But yes, you technically tend to be healthier and live longer and that's pretty dramatic. People that are self-conscious because they don't learn how to talk right because maybe they have masks on when they should have been learning visual and auditory skills in kindergarten and first grade will be hampered for many years and that will hold them back from the education that they should be getting. So while they were doing that
18and it was too dangerous to allow the natural progression of education and development of the entire really most of the world, their children and education. There were school buses from my own school district, Kenton South School District, driving around when the schools were shut down all year and you know what they were doing? They were getting off and the bus drivers were unloading. I'm paying a bus driver. I'm paying a mechanic to keep the bus running. I'm paying for the diesel fuel and the bus and I'm paying for groceries. I watched him carry four gallons of milk and bags of groceries into this house that's right there on our drive to the Mexican place. It's a nice thing. This is not a destitute neighborhood. This is not in the middle of the ghetto where you think, if you're living there you either own your home or you're playing a reasonable amount in rent. This is a nice area. It's only what? Three miles from my personal home. If it's in between here and there
19and they are paying, why was I paying? And now if you're delivering, if we had enough money to deliver groceries to people who look totally, I mean, the guy comes out all happy and healthy wearing t-shirt and a pair of shorts to gather all his free groceries that is taxpayer paid for. And it came out of a school bus so I'm guessing all this came out of our property taxes that are paying for the schools and the teachers, they're all getting paid I think and the school buildings that we build all these brand new schools, they're all being paid for. Why are we spending all that money? Look at how much money you waste right there. No wonder you needed a raise. You had to raise my property taxes by 40% last year. So you could pay for giving away free food to people that aren't even in school. What is the use of school lunches? It doesn't mean is that just another type of food stamp and welfare? Now we got to haul the, oh, if you have a kid, we got to, if you don't come to school, we have to deliver food to your house
21and pay for the bus to get it there. I just, I can't believe how much money we're paying in so many different ways. Maybe if these people didn't have to pay the property taxes, their rent would be low enough they could afford to buy their own food. And it wouldn't have to go through three stages of people. I mean, I imagine how much cheaper it would be if they bought their own food and you wouldn't have to pay the bus driver and the mechanic and for the diesel fuel. And how much money do you think is lost to friction cost of it going through the whole system before it turns into food, getting back to them rather than if you just gave them a 10% discount it might save you 20% after going through all those stages, right, Devon? Right, because any time the government gets a hold of money, any time they take it from you to give it to someone else, they take a lot of money out of that for all of the administrative and the politicians and plenty of other things I'm sure. And we talk a lot about Ohio property taxes because that's very important in my life. The federal government's doing the same thing. First, I think there were $5,000 tax returns,
22then $2,000 and everybody's, hey, where's my check from these tariffs? Uh, I don't want my check. Put my check on the national debt, but honestly, you shouldn't get that until the deficit is 100% gone. All right, so the people are supposed to get checks from the tariffs that were put in. Oh, I didn't get that. Just like Obama tried to buy votes with cell phones and Biden bought checks with the, bought votes with the free money. Apparently, Trump is just using the Democrat playbook. Okay, let's give him free money to get him to vote for me. I mean, if you have a $2,000 deficit, you don't have money to give away. Quit talking about giving away money when you can't even pay your bills. It just means my green, you already ruined my life and my kids. Now you're taxing my green kids. You are spending money that my green kids will have to earn and pay taxes on. And my green kids haven't even been born yet. Oh, guess what? It's going out in another way. They just decided to give 12 billion to farmers
23because the tariffs negatively impacted the farmers. Okay, well, let's give him $12 billion, but we're not actually going to give it to the farmers that lost money. No, we're going to give 11 of that 12 billion directly to the USDA. Oh, and then we'll go into their assistance program. I wonder if that's going to buy more seed for the farmers next year. I wonder if it's going to buy him a new tractor or maybe it'll go into rural development and pay rent for people or finance buildings for developers because we're literally trying to buy 200 and some units and Alabama and Tennessee that the USDA was in the USDA, is at the, or the, yeah, I think, I think so. And it's like a 50 year loan. Yeah, why are they financing real estate? If you're supposed to be in charge of drugs, why don't you go do some real vaccine trials and give me a double blind study and tell me how many people are dying from your vaccines? Why don't you focus on drugs? Why don't you focus on food
23rather than trying to provide housing? But how much of this 11 billion is going to be taken away from the farmers and put into, hey, pockets like ours, landlords pockets if we buy this. And I got to tell you, I'm so adamantly opposed. I don't want to just go in and throw these people out. I don't think that's right. But I also don't think it's right that the USDA is funding or any food or drug programs are funding housing. Explain to me how a department of agriculture, how does loaning money on apartment buildings fall under the department of agriculture? It shouldn't. That's just plain simple. It shouldn't. I am going to make a prediction that's not in my list that just came out. They predict and we're at the end of January. They predict that all of this money, the $12 billion will be distributed by February. What's that game? If I were playing that game, I'd call BS. I think that without even looking at how far they made it
26so far, there is zero chance that all this money will be distributed by February. In fact, I bet a bunch of it will never be distributed. I bet it will be eaten up by the government apparatus get lost in, which brings me to a totally new point. What was it? Who was it, Connor Boyack, who we have the utmost respect for? Don't we, Lila? Yes, we absolutely do. Yeah, I'm going to call you out, Connor. I think you're flat out wrong. I think in as soon as you hear this, and I'm absolutely willing to have a discussion, I'd love to have you on the show. We keep sending invites to your staff. But if anybody is friends with Connor and wants to let him know, he said that rolling the Federal Reserve, and I believe that he agrees with us, the Fed should be ended. Yes. But rolling in into the Treasury, would at least give us the ability to audit it. Okay. Even if you're right, which I don't think you are, I'm going to give you two examples, and then you tell me,
27and I'm happy to let you talk for a full hour and explain to me why I'm wrong on my own show. I think that would be quite amusing. If we have not, I'm 50 years, I'm over 50 years old. If we have not audited the gold Ford Knox in my entire lifetime, we did a dog and pony show where they opened up one ball, and said, oh, look, it's all there, but it was never a serious audit. What makes you think we could ever get an audit of the Federal Reserve, even if it was rolled into the Treasury, point one, point two, the, we have audited the Department of War eight times. It has failed eight times, it's literally lost trillions of dollars. So even if we got our audit of the Fed, what makes you think with any common sense or certainty that we would actually, first off, they would guarantee they'd fail.
29There would be plenty of things to hide. What makes you think that we'd find anything other than that they obviously failed. And even if we found anything, look at the Epstein list. So apparently three points. If we can't throw congressmen and actors in jail because they committed one of the most atrocious crimes molesting children, literally everybody that's talking about slavery, why are you not all over this? These are child sex slaves. There is nothing more disgusting and awful. And we don't have a single arrest. I mean, ex-secretary estate who let people die in Benghazi, who was too busy to answer the phone, who had like servers full of sensitive information at home. Decides she's not even gonna show up to a court-ordered subpoena or to a congress-ordered subpoena. The ex-president, Bill Clinton, just totally blew off. What are they gonna, they're talking a big talk. Oh, well, we're gonna do it now, you're not.
29You never do anything. We have totally lost faith in you. You have cried wolf one too many times until I see somebody sitting in jail. You arrest all of us citizens and then you threaten us with our lives and with everything that matters until even General Flynn pleads guilty because he just can't let it crush everybody around him. How despicable is it you turn the department of justice against some guy like that? And you won't go after people that are really doing immense harm to our country, like the Clintons. How many people were thrown in jail because of January 6th? And yet you can't even throw, you can't get people on the Epstein list. And I don't want them thrown in jail. I don't want them rounded up and put in jail so that was despicable. It happened in January 6th and we cannot let that ever happen again. I want court hearing. And when there to be tried by a judge or a jury, then I want them to feel the full force and wrath of the law. I don't want to lock them up for four years without a trial
30and threaten them until they plead out. I think that's disgusting. And that's what happened to the January 6th. They were either in there without a trial at all or they're basically made to plead guilty. So no, we need to get in there and how do you think? Why do people still believe that government is trying to help them when you see all these things why do you think that the government getting bigger and absorbing the Federal Reserve could possibly help us in any way? Yeah, I'm a big fan of ending the Fed but why don't we just throw up for our arms and say I give up, forget about it. I got a crazy idea. Let's use the Constitution. You know that old antiquated relic the document that talks about a barbarous relic? Let's just go back and use gold and silver for money again like the Constitution says like people have done for 10,000 years and forget about this whole central banking and let's see what happens. Will the entire financial system collapse?
30Probably, will people's lives get harder? Probably and will it work its way out faster and be fairer for as long as we can maintain that system forever after that, absolutely. But if you try and kick the cane down the road and avoid the pain, you're simply creating more pain for your children and your grandchildren. That's why we're fighting to stop these unauthorized seizures from the government. These illegal taxes, like rental inspection fees, like inspecting our private property just because we rent it to a tenant doesn't mean they are second class citizens and they give up their rights under the Ohio Constitution or the Bill of Rights at the federal level. That's why we're fighting in the Supreme Court. That's why we're fighting against, you know, or to get all property taxes abolished. So please stand up, sign our petition, go to axohyotax.org to sign that. Find out what you can do sometimes just showing up to a court hearing or sending an email or making a phone call can really help.
33And if you wonder what this has to do with a financial Friday, it's because there is no question by far the biggest expense you will ever have in your life as taxes. It consumes half of everything that anybody that has a job brings in. And if you say, oh, well, I don't file my taxes. I get paid under the table. Yeah, do you pay gas tax, do you pay sales tax, do you pay property tax? Look at all of the different taxes you pay. It consumes us. And it's time for us to stand up and say enough is enough. Wrap us up, Lila. Carrier's words I've ever heard is, I'm from the government, I'm here to help. They're not really and you've got to look at the facts. Look at the big picture. Keep fighting and standing up, talking to people and sign the petition to end property taxes. Ethan, and you can sign that or find a place to sign it at axohtax.com. Save whatever you can out of what you make, spend less or consume less than you bring in and store the rest not in an appreciating asset
36which helps out their system like dollars in a bank account, store it in gold and silver like we get from American Gold Exchange. That will give you the biggest advantage in a lot of security because one of the ways the government goes after you is to freeze all your assets. It's a lot harder to freeze, gold and silver if you hold it in your possession or haven't in a private bank vault. Think about that and hey, go out, spend time with your family this weekend, have some fun and make the world a better place. We'll talk to you next week.
