About this episode
In this episode of The Daily Energize, Spencer focuses on the importance of recharging and filling your cup over the weekend. He encourages listeners to identify what they truly need mentally, emotionally, physically, or spiritually to feel energized and fulfilled.
The key message: don’t just hope for self-care, schedule it, prioritize it, and make it happen so you can give to others from a place of overflow rather than depletion. It’s about maintaining balance, refilling your energy daily, and using the weekend as a time to replenish and thrive

0:00Welcome to the Daily Energized Podcast, your quick dose of clarity, quick tips, and the spark you need to shine bright. Here's your host, Spencer Jones. Hey, Energizer, I hope you had a fantastic week, no, a phenomenal week and that you went back into feeling that phenomenalness and all of those things that go with it this week. And you know what, if you forgot it's okay, if you're like Spencer, this is crazy, I don't know about this, that's okay too, but I invite you to try it. And if you forgot throughout the week, that's okay, come back to it today and if you've been rocking it, awesome, yes, love it, keep rocking it, keep rocking that today. So embrace that feeling of what a phenomenal week would look like, but feel like in your body and things are doing, how you're holding yourself handling, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, all those things, live it, feel it first and then keep taking those actions.
1:00But today is, in today's episode is not about having a phenomenal week because that was Monday's episode. This episode is not even about having a stellar weekend, which we talked about last Friday. This is about having a weekend that recharges you, that fills your cup. So it can be similar to having a stellar weekend because most likely you will have a stellar weekend if you do this. But I invite you to ask yourself, what do you, what do you and your body, let me try that again, words are hard, what do you and what does your body need right now or this week to recharge, to feel energized again because I get it as we go through the week, we pour into other people, other things, our folks and energy goes other places and it drains our cup as it were. But my hope and goal is with all of our energizers, is that you never give from under 100 again.
2:02So imagine your cup goes from zero to 100, right? You're not giving from under 100, it's not, oh, I'm somewhere between zero and 100. I'm at 75% today, oh, I'm at, you know, eight percent, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, you're at 100 plus percent all the time, you're at 110% and you're constantly overflowing, right? Your cup is constantly overflowing because you're pouring so much into yourself so that you can keep giving and you give from that overflow and that you've learned to recognize, well, I'm getting near 100, right? You're never under 100, but I'm getting a little low on my overflow here. Let me pause and refill and do things so all you're constantly overflowing. But I get, it's a learning process. So if you're not there yet, that's cool, if you forgot whatever, just come back, just come back, let's overflow. So what can you do for yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, et cetera, so that your cup overflows even more, either again, or overflows even more than what it
3:04is? What can you do? Is it going for a walk? Is it watching a movie and chilling? Is it having a conversation with a friend? Is it getting a massage, which reminds me I really want a massage, that's just sounds freaking amazing. Anyway, so what is it getting a manicure? Is it doing a bubble bath, those more, quote unquote, fluffier self-care things, but there are still beautiful things to do, is it meditating? Is it working out? I have no idea. I have no idea what that would be for you, but whatever it is, take the time to do it. Don't just say, oh yeah, I'm hoping to do this this week, and oh, I'm hoping to meditate this week, and I'm hoping to go work out, or whatever. Now, don't hope for it, don't try it, schedule it, make it happen, make it a reality by scheduling it, by saying, nope, I'm going to do it to this day at this time, I'm going
4:04to go get my massage this day this time, all right, I'm going to go work out here, and I'm doing this, make it easy for you to do it. By scheduling it, by making an appointment with yourself to do those things, whatever those things are for you, that fill your cup. That's it, that's all I have for today, and I just want to drive it home, fill your cup. Don't just fill your cup this weekend, and I'm just going to give, give, give, give throughout the weekend, and I'm going to fill my cup over the weekend, and I'm going to give, give, give, give, give, give. Now, every day, every single day, and hopefully multiple times a day, you are feeling your cup, so that it's overflowing, so you can keep giving from the overflow, so you can give every day, and you can pour into it every day, not just during the weekends, but the beautiful thing is, over the weekends, we get a pour in a little extra, all right, we can, maybe we were, I don't know, we were at 120%, as a Monday, and then you poured into
5:07yourself, and poured into other people, and other things throughout the week, but you've maintained a good balance set, by the end of the week, you ended at 105%, okay, let's say, so you've lost 15%, but you still overflow, great, so over the weekend, you can fill yourself back up, so you're at 120%, or whatever it is, but you need to do it, if nobody else can do it for you, I can't do it for you, I can only just say it, God knows how many times, here, and on social media, and all the other ways, but I still can't do it, you're the one who needs to do it. So this is my call to action, go take time for you, go fill your cup, whatever that is, make a plan, schedule it, and go take care of you, because you matter, all right, go take care of yourself, go fill your cup, until Monday, I'll catch you later.
