Fields Traded to Chiefs, Ready to Back Up Mahomes

0:00On April 28, Dean Lowry's potential return to the Steelers just hit a snag. The 31-year-old defensive lineman is in signing yet. Instead, he's taking extra time to get back into playing shape. He skipped the physical, but got full medical clearance from last season's injury. Lowry spent his last two seasons in Pittsburgh. He missed all of 2025 after tearing his ACL and training camp. That wiped out his whole year, but he's determined to bounce back strong. Back in 2024, he played 12 games, started one, and notched five tackles plus a sack. He posted online about turning that heartbreak into fuel, grateful for the grind despite the risks of the game. Meanwhile, the Steelers' defensive line looks stacked for next year. They've got Cam Hayward, Keanu Benton, and four others locked in through 2026. They added Vett Sebastian Joseph Day in free agency and grabbed Notre Dame's Gabriel Rubio in the sixth round of the 2026 draft. A couple guys like Daniel Eccale and Isaiah Laudermilk are still free agents after their own injuries.
