Field's Murder Conviction Overturned

0:00On April 16, Benjamin Field, the former church warden locked up for life back in 2019, just had his murder conviction thrown out by. The Court of Appeal. He got a minimum of 36 years for killing 69-year-old university lecturer, Peter Farquhar, and Maid's Morton, Buckingham Shire, back in 2015. Prosecutors said, Field messed with Farquhar's head, making him think he was going crazy, all to snag his house and cash. He slipped the guy tranquilizers and spiked his whiskey, hoping it'd look like suicide or some accident. The case got fled by the Criminal Cases Review Commission last year, and Field's team argued there was zero proof Farquhar was tricked into the booze or meds. The re-top judges ruled. The original jury instructions were flawed. They basically took away the question of whether Farquhar chose to drink that whiskey. On his own. Now are retrials on the table. There's Maid pushed this rare case to the Supreme Court first, and Field stays behind
