Father Sentenced for Murdering Son

May 2023, the judge set a non-parole period of 18 and a half years, and with time already served, he'll be up for parole in 2041. Vicados pleaded guilty last November after stabbing his son to death in the bathroom of their Riverwood apartment. Court heard he planned it as a murder suicide because he didn't want the boy going into state care. Family and friends filled the courtroom, sharing painful impact statements about losing a sweet little boy they all adored. They talked about endless nightmares, flashbacks, and the hole in their lives for missing out on watching him grow up. The judge praised their courage.
