Two people lost their lives, and five others got hurt in a bad crash in Pasco County early Saturday morning. Florida Highway Patrol says it happened around 437 AM on Island Boulevard, South of Han Cart Road, a 30-year-old guy from Dade City driving a Nissan Altima crossed into the South Bound Lane and slammed nearly head-on into a Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by a 43-year-old from Zephyr Hills. Both cars spun out and stopped right there in the road. The victims included a heartbreaking 4-year-old boy in the Nissan and a 40-year-old woman passenger in the Hyundai, both dying from their injuries. The other five folks in the vehicles had injuries that weren't life-threatening and headed to local hospitals. Shifting gears to local schools, Pasco County districts are now looking into wiregrass elementary after staff there, reported on the job injuries, and complained about not enough support from admins. Authorities are piecing together what led to the crash, while the school pro continues to figure out how to keep teachers safe on the job, stay tuned for updates as these stories
