Farmer Jailed for Dog Attack, Safety Warning

Matthew Brown, who runs car farm in Milnero, got 15 months behind bars in a five-year ban on owning dogs. This stems from an attack by his Tibetan master on a 17-year-old walking nearby in April 2021. The trial wrapped up at Manchester Crown Court in early February, with the jury finding him guilty on February 5th. The judge handed down the sentence last Thursday, March 5th. Police described the girl's arm wound as large and exposed, like a deep V-shape, and the dog has since been re-homed. The victim shared in court how the attack left her permanently scarred and stole her love for countryside walks with friends and family. It even affected her new role as a mom, to her daughter born in 2022. Meanwhile, the same farm saw tragedy a year later, when three-year-old Daniel Twig died from bites by a cane corso in May, 2022.
