Fantasy baseball fans, get ready for some outfield breakouts in the 2026 season. With 90 starting spots across Major League Baseball, a handful of players could lead forward this year. Leading the pack are two Washington Nationals, Dylan Cruz and Dalylin Lyle. Both bring speed and power that managers can snag latent drafts. Cruz, the number two pick from 2023, has hit just a 0.634 OPS so far. Still, he posted 13 home runs and 29 steals in limited time. Better luck on balls and play should push him to a 0.260 average, 20 homers and 35 steals. Meanwhile, Lyle exploded in September last year with a 0.391 average and 6 homers. His contact skills and 90 second percentile speed make him a polished threat. The Nationals plan to build around him, Cruz and James Wood in their rebuilding lineup.

1:04Fantasy players have mostly ignored guys like St. Louis's Lars Newbar and Seattle's Dominic Canzone. Newbar's patience and hard contact could yield 20 to 25 homers from a top spot. Canzone mashed at 0.300 with elite exit velocity, eyeing a full time role. Others to watch include Texas's Evan Carter with his 2020 upside of healthy Minnesota's Matt Walner for 30 homer power and Toronto's, Jesus Sanchez in a better park, target these sleepers undrafted or in final rounds for big returns.
