So far, they've raised nearly $260 million by selling more than 53,300 of these licenses. That total beats their original goal of $225 million by 15%. It's a strong sign of fan support for the $2.1 billion project. Fans are stepping up big time, paying hefty upfront fees for the privilege. Meanwhile, more than 1,300 licenses are still up for grabs. This approach shifts costs away from local taxpayers who might never even attend a game. Officials see it as a win since dedicated supporters are covering a big chunk.
