Falcons Add Depth with Holmes Signing

0:00With the NFL today, March 18th, the Atlanta Falcons just added some depth to their corner-back room by signing former Las Vegas Raider and New York Giant Darnay Holmes. He'll turn 28 before the season kicks off, and this move bolsters their defense and special teams without shaking up the starting lineup. Holmes brings solid NFL experience with 83 games played and 12 starts under his belt. He's known as a reliable tackler, especially on special teams where he's logged heavy snaps over the years. He's stepping into a competitive group of reserves that includes Quart Phillips, C.J. Henderson, Natromb Brooks, and Kobe Bryant. Holmes will push for a nickel backup role behind Billy Bowman Jr. Last season, he played 173 snaps, facing 32 targets and allowing 282 yards along with two touchdowns. Quarterbacks targeting him completed just 62.5% of passes his best mark yet. This signing gives the Falcons a physical, aggressive option for spot duty or injuries.
