Ex-Girlfriend Testifies in McCullagh Murder Trial

He denies the charge. On the ninth day, his former girlfriend testified about a violent incident from late December 2019 when they were trying to reconcile after a break. She explained that McCullough found photos she had sent to another man while they were apart. He got upset, pushed her abruptly into a bathtub, and yanked her phone away during the argument. Later that same night, while driving her home, things escalated further. She described him punching her in the temple, amid a dispute over her suicide attempt. He also threatened to share the photos with her family and friends, and mentioned burning her belongings. The witness had reported the assault to police the next day, but withdrew the complaint shortly after, saying she did not want him to go to prison. Another on-and-off relationship continued until early summer, 2022.
