Ex-City Cop Convicted for Assaulting Boy

0:00On April 28th, a former city of London police officer named Manpreet Callow has resigned after getting convicted for assaulting a 12-year-old boy while he was off duty and drunk. This went down in Essex on October 24th, 2025, when Callow grabbed the kid's arm and tried to hand him some cash. Witnesses from a nearby leisure center saw it all and called him out, but he flashed a photo of himself in uniform claiming he was a cop. Essex police arrested him right there for common assault. He got suspended immediately by his force and ended up pleading guilty at Calmsford Magistrate's Court on December 3rd, 2025. That led to a $400 fine plus $110 in costs and $150 in compensation to the victim back in, January. Fast forward to a misconduct tearing on April 14th this year and the report called it Gross Misconduct, a straight breach of professional, standards like discreditable conduct.
