It's been six years since, since last time I'm pretty, I've been six years. You've been doing, it's been comedy for the last six years, predominantly only for you. I started comedy January 12, 2022 for you. And then you dropped, you did your last, you just dropped the special, and then I would be getting all this shit out of the way, because I knew I was going to do this. Yeah. I was just getting it out of the way. I didn't shot the shit. I was just getting it out of the way, so I could finish that and start it. Was it a build up to, like, I want to have a solid hour in comedy? Yes. I would be out of it with you, man, I had, I had an hour early in one, in one good.

3:22You know what I'm saying? That's real. You know what I'm saying? They already want to pick your part for the comedy, so you can't put on no bad, all. No, but the thing is, it ain't for them. Like, I ain't really trippin' like, you know what I'm saying? How you opinion good here? I already have an arena where I could go and be the shit at something, if I should do that. That part. I already had it. This is something that I'm doing for me. I'm working to grow and be good at something else. And you just worry about you being great at the first thing. Yeah. You ain't nobody who great at anything got shit bad to say about me doing comedy. Only more fucker who's struggling to be great at the first thing. Yeah. It's like, damn, isn't it going to be great at something else? You know what I mean? So, y'all just keep focusing on y'all being great at y'all one thing first. And let me grow as good with intent and allow me to grow. Hey, man. Do you feel like doing the stand-up? It's a different level of performance.

4:25It's more vulnerable. Was it more so therapeutic for you to kind of get into that? Yeah. It's very different. And it's also very therapeutic. I'll say this though, because I know we normally recover all things, pop culture. I've been a fan of comedy for a long time, so I know that it's people that's 20 years in. Yeah. That ain't got to solid out. Right. But it's people that might be just starting out and they fire hot. So it's like, shit, it's either going to be in you or it's not. Like, it's some hit of mystery. It's about what it does for you, you know what you're in it for. It brings me peace, you know, to be able to focus on the source of laughter. You know what I'm saying? Comedy is I'm trying to evoke a positive response from somebody. One of the most genuine positive responses, the human body has to offer.

5:25You know what I mean? To laugh for sure. Exactly. So me focusing on how to bring positivity out of others essentially brings positivity out of me. Yeah, I mean, and I enjoy that energy. I enjoy that process. I enjoy the science behind it. It's fun, cool, and dope to me. And I'm not going to, I'm not going to disqualify myself from it, because it made other motherfuckers feel another type of weight that's deep in this. Yeah. I've been on, we was doing a little podcast like I had to sit on this panel and people was talking about basically building content, building organic content, independent media and shit. And my thing was it's like, if you build your reputation on shit and all other people, that's the only thing people want to hear from you. And it kind of put a limit on what you could do, right?

6:25Like, so if my whole shit is, I get on this show and I talk out of this shit about everybody. I mean, if you blow up, you're going to run into default. These folks ain't going to want to work with you, you don't know who they know. And it's also a thing of like, yeah, you could rodeo. Like, you could play the rodeo like that if you want to do that. But at the same time, it's like, I've been practicing a lot more. If you invite me somewhere, I'm going to show up. Because when I put these tickets out for sale, I want people to show up for me. So the same way, I figure I'll practice what I preach in that way too. And action. That's good. I think that's a fair practice. I mean, as far as, man, whatever you put in to life is what you're going to get back. Absolutely. You spend all your time trying to tear people down eventually, you'll be torn down. And I wear one. You just get what you give. And I just feel like, man, God has blessed me so much. I have so much more to contribute to the world than just like, you know,

7:26trying to speak ill of someone else. We're trying to diminish what someone else is building. That's not my way. I don't, I just don't, I don't got energy to invest in something to destroy. I don't want to do that. I rather, I rather focus my energy on building things. Absolutely. Yeah, because that, that, that distortion. I'm going to come back on your eyes. You're going to come back. You know what I mean? One way or another. It's kind of, I think a lot of people assume that once you drop the last six years ago, and then you pivot into comedy that we done with rapper. I wish, I wish that with the case. No, for real. I wish that with the case. I was, I was, because I was having, I was enjoying myself tremendously. I was golfing. I ain't brushing out. I would have. You grew the hat. I would do comedy. I would vacation in traveling, seeing the world, owning off boats and islands.

8:29And I would really travel with my golf club. I golfed in Barbados. Man, I don't golf. All types of places, man. Just, just chilling. Yeah. But I, I, I do believe that if you've had a career like mine, you don't just disappear off into the shadows. You have to, you have to put a punctuation at the end. Period exclamation mark. It got to be something there. And this is my punctuation. I said this way it would all be. So did it, what it is. Yeah. So I paused my retirement. But I know what it feels like. Yeah. And I know I like. I know you can get back to that. I'm going to do this. I'm going to keep back to that. Yeah. You know, what's that? What's that golf guy little idol? Man, it's, it's, it's getting, it's getting better. Yeah. Mm-hmm. You know, I look at, I have one good hole everywhere.

9:32You know, you got 18 holes. You know, I have one good hole everywhere. And I have one good shot every hole. You know what I'm saying? You know, good enough for me for right now, man. And I'm going to work till, you know, I might get two, two good holes in a round. You can get ten. Because these are last year's stats. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? That's 2025. That was last year. This is a new year. The season is about to begin. Well, I just played my, I played my 39 holes the day of the year. Oh, okay. You know what I mean? I did, I did pretty good. I actually had, I had two good holes. I had two good holes in a, in a half a round. So who knows, this year could be better. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Everybody sucks at this game. They're very frustrated. It's a difficult game. It's a you versus you versus the welcome. See a lot of people, you know, they be trying to, they make themselves, they make themselves

10:35feel good about sucking by trying to find somewhere that sucks more than them. And they won't play right now. Yeah, I bet you did. You played the course, sir. Right. It was there. I didn't hear to beat you. I'm here to beat the course. That part. And so. Yeah, because this is self-versal game. It's a bit, but I was around golf. It's discipline. Yeah, for sure. Discipline. I've been around black golf for quite some time. And my Uncle Peach, he used to, he, he golfed over there in Cascade and grinded up. And I did the summer doing the ball cart. Fourteen. How was that? Two weeks, bro. That was it. All right. I'm not doing this shit, bro. Well, the sun was out there. It was being, bro. And then you were in the middle box, bro. Yeah, the sun. No quick. And he like, man, I did this. Growing up, I would do this every summer. All summer. You ready to do it? I'm not you, man. You know. Dang. Not you. It was between finding nothing to follow the little bit about it. He wasn't letting me fuck with the game. He was like, you want to learn how to play the game. You got to do this for.

11:35You got to learn the other part of it. And what was the other part? Scooping them down balls. And then I was like, man, this was not me. With me and my grandma agreed on it. And who did your uncle? Yeah. He was like, that's my little sister. So she'll tell me what to do. Well, speaking of boats and vacationing. Yeah. Let them know for some background. I think I told you this at the studio, but like. First CD I got when I moved here. I got Eminem show and Urban Legend. Ooh. That's doing a little two for five on the. I bought. I bought this shit. Man. I'm nigga on my bus, man. And nigga used to go to the fire at least eight. I bought King though.

13:36I will say that I spent my money on King and. It was something on the CD because it nigga who you did your head. The couples and they had nothing in them. Wow. He I went to the nigga house. Bernie. We live in the same apartment complex. I was like, man, I'm gonna give me two for five. Sounds good. But yeah. But I bought King. Okay. And I bought this nine smoking. I was. I bought King to 20 this year. Yeah. 20 years King. And then what 25 since I'm serious. Yup. Yup. Yup. And then we. 20. Also 20 year anniversary. Eight years. It is 20th anniversary. Eight years. Yeah. So this is the year to do it. I know it. This is the year to do it. I thought so. I thought so. Now think it deal with the what. It's good. Man. I have a good idea from time to time. But taking six years away and coming back. Back to the number one. Back to the press. Obviously going to be an amazing album. Thank you. Going prepared for a tour as well. I'm counting on it. Yeah.

14:36Counting on it being, being, you know, superlative. It's what fucker is going to have to, you know. Now it's going to do it, man. Yeah. I think it's been a very interesting couple of weeks. And behind people rallying behind some of the legends and old jeez and hip hop. Really great to see. Yeah. It's amazing. I think of the dope shit. Trick, jewelry. Yeah. And then you, of course, amen. I think it's, I think it's showing growth in the space though more than anything because there a lot of the conversation has always been like, man we don't let our old geez grow, we don't let them we always tell us about a young man sport. But I think, you know, last year with the clips, of course, they've been showing that, like some of the OGs really holding this shit down right now, why everybody else figured out what direction is going on. Well, it's consistent. It's consistent, brand awareness, you know what I mean? If you know these people, then you kind of already know what you liked them for.

15:37And most of us are aware of what that thing is. And you know, if we can service or deliver that thing to our demographic, that is success. Yeah. You know what I mean? We can supply the demand of the demographic. That's success. That's what's essential. I would say Ferrell played a big part in your production early on since I'm serious. Yeah, with tracks like real DJ Tune. I got some notes. I got some notes. I got some notes. Have to be remiss, not to say. Yeah, yeah. I was going to bring on Tune here. But since we all let them know, it's, you know, early tracks, what's your name? I'm serious. And then he executive produced paperwork, 2014 album and now 12 years later, better produce. Let them know. How did you start that relationship with him and how important has that been to your career? It's been, it's been incredibly important.

16:38The relationship started KP introduced me to Ferrell. Then we set up a time to go to Virginia and work and everything we started working just. As fast as he creates, and as fast as I create, we just kind of get, we get into a real, you know what I'm saying? And we go from here to here. And he does real off-the-wall outlander shit. And I be kind of like right in my pocket. So he is far as he goes this way. I'm kind of grounding it just with exactly what the fuck. I know I'm supposed to be doing it. Yeah. I would say one thing we was talking about when we was kids, it's like, we had, we had not heard like trap music and all this shit. We listened to you and then like, I'm serious, drama. Like, what are you doing? This is like a whole another direction. I'm serious. It's first. Yeah. Oh, damn, you right.

17:38Yeah, I'm serious. We might be reflecting on it the wrong way as far as just thinking about the gangster shit. Well, I mean, bruh, to be honest with you. So it's a range thing when I'm talking about it. Well, I'm talking, okay, so what I can say is, if far gangster shit goes, anytime I'm speaking of it, it is kind of like, me, me, me, reflecting the things I've gone through and seen others go through. But the things I'm happy I made it out of. And it's also inspiration for the people who I know steal a lot of, you know, participate. Just let them know if I came from these humble beginnings, you can make it this far or further. So that's like, sort of like if I, if, you know,

18:38you're an alcoholic. You're an alcoholic for, let's call it 16 years. I ain't, now you stop drinking. You've been sober for about 12 years. You still, I'm talking about drinking. You're still going to know what it's like to be drunk. You're still going to recall the last time you threw up on yourself. You're still going to know all the things you lost from it. And remember the lessons that were taught because of it. And you, that's your testimony. And you, not only do you have the right to, but you have an obligation. You're bound to share that testimony for others that are in the same position you once was in. And so they can see they weigh out of it through your experiences. That's what it's like for me in trap music. Yeah. I mean, like that's that why we kick the shit the way we do. Absolutely. And because we, we, we, we know that she, we must teach us, didn't tell us.

19:41That's a young girl. Yeah. Yeah. You must. That's a young, that's a young, different. You talk about a jigger. All right, hold you back to the show. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm somewhat of an oxymoron, because I'm arrogant, but I'm humble at the same time, you know what I mean? I understand my value, and as long as I'm around, others who understand my value, I have no reason to be, you know what I mean? If I'm around people that I feel like I have miscalculated, you know what I'm saying?

26:53My value, but now I got, I got to turn up, you know what I'm saying? And I, I, I just feel that in retirement, I no longer really have, I now choose where I place my personal space and I place my personal space by choice around people who already understand their value, which allows me to occupy a more humble existence. Yeah. And that's what you can't really do. You can't, you can't go comfortably until retirement. I can live like 3,000, I can go get me a flute. I might do the ukulele, you know what I'm saying? He got the flute, I might do the ukulele. I'm gonna start wearing them off like a wide shirt with them, and look here, it's your head, and it's the bagel with no socks, you know what I'm saying? A lot of sand time, right? Yeah, but what? Yeah, so you can't, you can't go comfortably. Is there any, is there any moments that you reflect on

27:55with that being kind of the ethos behind the last album of Killin' the Ego that you reflect on in your career where it's like, man, like if I could, I could have used some Killin' of the Ego in this area. Oh, that turns. And that, so this just called back into... Yeah, it's time, most of the shit that I've got myself in, you know, was revolving around the King of the South narrative position, the defense of my right to present myself as a King amongst others, who probably was all Kings II just didn't realize it, or was just one confident enough to say it, and probably upset something inside of them to see someone who was confident enough to say it. And, you know, all that shit, just... It's, man. Yeah, because we done that a lot too, like, you know, if you ask me, if we don't wear the socks, you say trap music, I'm gonna say T.R.

28:57Okay. I think that's the standard. Yeah, it's reasonable. Yeah, so... But I think... And I don't think we have an argument about that. I think we can have a lot of contributions to people who added in the sound of trap music, or especially... Absolutely. It's not... I don't think there's an isolated... For sure. ...place that I hold. I'm there amongst, you know, the other architects. Right. But when you say King of the South... I'm the one walked in with the paper. And we all drew the plan. But I walked in with the paper and the pen and said, Hey, man, let's draw this out. To your point, though, when you say King of the South, especially that early in your career, it seems like it's a lot of people going to want to make you defend that title, or try to claim that title, or say you don't deserve that title.

29:58And, you know, 25 years later, we still here. But, man... I am everything I think I am. All it takes is for me and God to say I am. That part. Everybody else, man. Y'all gonna have to follow me, man. Yeah. God ain't interrupted me. Hey, no human gonna do shit, too. On me? Because when I say I got the bad podcast in the world, I don't want his shit back. Right? You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I was like... I don't worry for the nigga Neal. Every year? Yeah, I don't worry for nobody. Every year, so... And that's, I think that's the piece that everybody should aim for. Yeah. You know what I mean? Because numbers don't really matter. You could have, to be honest, you could have a billion dollars instead of be broke. Because if you exceed a billion dollars in your expenses and your overhead, what it takes for you to exist, you broke. That's it. You could have a hundred thousand dollars in be rich.

30:58That part. Because if it's yours, if you're in no bills, you know what I'm saying? You live off bare minimum. You only, it only calls you, shit, let's say, 35 hundred a month to live. That calls you 35 hundred a month to live. You're gonna rock out for us to live. You didn't get what I'm saying. You're gonna rock out for me. You're right, man. You living. Yeah, you gonna start like the birds and you're gonna be all right. I say don't chase numbers, man, chase ability. Yeah, ability to wake up and live the life that you okay with living and exist in a universe that you're comfortable in. If you have that, those are riches. That's freedom. Absolutely. Yeah, I mean, so that's, you know, that's where I met with, man. Is there, is there a, you got the experience retirement, you coming back, you want to put the exclamation on it, but is there a certain, like, grieving process of that rap career? This has been, this is the thing that changed your life, you know?

32:01It's a bit of sweet. It's a bit of sweet. I love it. I do love it. And I'm certain that I will miss it. But there are things about it that just aren't the best for me. It just, there are things about it that bring out things that I want to change within myself. Yeah. And so we're kind of like in order to put this part of me to bed, I got to get out of this environment. Yeah, because rap music is going to activate the ego. Don't know, but I ain't going to hurt it. I ain't trying to hit the Humber House. I ain't trying to hit a sheep. You know what I'm saying? That's what poetry's for, nigga. You want to be humble, nigga? Do some spoken words, nigga. And then say, I want you to know Humber Rap, nigga. You know what I'm saying? At least, like, Humber Rap is, like,

33:03Mumble Rap is the antithesis of Humber Rap. You know what I'm saying? Mumble Rap. I would say, you know what I'm saying? At least you put your Humber Rap, man. You know what I'm saying? You got to balance it out. You got to give me three ego raps. Who would be your top Humber Rapples? Who would be your top Humber Rapples? They don't exist, but who would be your top Humber Rapples? Who would be your top Humber Rapples? I don't know, who would be considered that? When you never heard them, because don't know what I'm saying. Jacob, Jacob, is the Humber Rapples? 34:03I mean, you got to pop your shit sometimes. Like, did you? You're not passive. That ain't the, that ain't the, I think, I think there's a balance to be had. And, uh, I had some of my mama lived in Riverdale. That was her station eight world, but I had got him. He had been, uh, we're going to school at Doug, which had me living in my mama house. I got kicked out of Doug. We got into some bullshit on the West Side. And, you know, I had to go stay with my mama. When I was at that with my mama now, drove head, and his brothers had them moved into the apartment. And so then we just kind of met. He would, he was from the West Side, out from the West Side. We both in Riverdale. And, you know, I figured out he got around, he figured out I can rap. I was rapping. And he was sitting in my head sitting in my room. I had like two, like eight inch, like, so, like woofled tightspeaker.

39:09And, and some goddamn little small tweeters. And, uh, an old school, McNabobs amplified. And I sent them off, like a wall, a Walmart car at table, right there, the foot of my bed in my room. And I sit up and play beats. Or I had a little keyboard too. I sit there, make beats, play instrumentals, you know, smoke weed, cut up dope, fresh style. And it'll be me, drove, you know, sometimes showered the gun. I look good and being there, sometimes I get am, a nigga boom man. Like, you know, we're just being that motherfucker, vibing. And, I'd be selling a little, selling thirty-forty-dollar work, dope outside the wonder. I stayed on the ground floor, so they'd tap on the wonder. I got, you know what I mean? We would be doing that shit all fucking day for weeks out of time. And we would just talk about what was going to happen if AM-1 of us had a chance to get them. And she,

40:09drove out there first, drove, he was side first, he was side right here in the dream. So, got AM-um. Me and drove out to, me and drove, got, we was in the middle of a shootout, and drove the crazy shit I've ever seen in my fucking life. I know he's an ornate guard, got your hands on this young man. Listen, it's a shootout. Let's say somebody over here on that side on the other side of this camera, and we over here, and we shooting at, and drove, ran, this way. Drove ran, this way. That's what the fuck is this? You can do it. You hear me? And it wasn't even like to get low like, bro, and it was like, you're fast and fast. And it was elbow, knees up, man. Hey, man. 41:11And I ended up moving out the apartments, and we kind of loud track each other for a minute, and he popped up on the radio, rapping with right here in the dream, and I was like, damn, okay, that's good. I was still getting my shit together, and when I got signed, when KP signed me, it was just about building and building and building. By the time I got the trap music, and had the opportunity to sign other artists myself, the first thing I wanted to do is go get drove, and pull, mat boning, and country, and the motherfuckers that have been around me the whole time. I never really, really, really had a desire to go outside my circle for real. It was always about finding the best talent that was already around. For sure. That'll keep you honest, too though. But I like, we didn't, you know, I think anytime you just hanging out with your buddies, or you doing anything outside, you get them moving around a little bit,

42:11but how we rap over here is how we rap over here, and then I hear nigga go there, and you rapping out like, man, you don't be talking like that over here, man. What you being? I'm talking about some nigga's, I know. Okay, okay. So you say, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, but I'm saying you can't be keeping it. Everybody be trying to fit in, though. No matter who it is that you are, yeah, and the fundamental development years where you are being shaped and formed into the character or the man, woman or person that you are meant to be, these songs and narratives and ideologies, that's what connects with you most because then you're form of the beginning. 47:18you're going to, I would say, it's either two things that happen. For me, when music grown up, it was either, I seen niggas gravitate towards what, resonated with them or what they wanted to be. So when they niggas talk about, oh, it's the rap music, it's the rap music. It's like, it ain't the music. It's that this nigga ain't comfortable with who he is. So he want to live through these raps and he think they're going to make him more whatever the fuck he got going on. That's true. But I think people also don't love themselves. That what I'm saying.
