Hailing from Tucson, the música tropical ensemble has built considerable buzz with their mixture of psychedelic cumbia and cuban son, capturing their unique vintage sound on 2021’s excellent Estraik Back LP. We caught up with the boys in Seattle at Freakout Fest and chatted about their trancelike -and sometimes confrontational- performance style, the challenges of making music and surviving during a global pandemic, FANIA, and so much more.
