Happy Halloween Friends of Disney!!! today we start a special Halloween series talking about the Disney Channel original movie series Halloweentown and what better place to start than the first movie in the series "Halloweentown" Halloweentown released on Disney channel in 1998 and follows Marnie Piper (Kimberly J Brown), her brother Dylan, sister Sophie, Mom (Judith Hoag) and Grandma Aggie (Debbie Reynolds), a family of witches and warlock that go on a quest to save Halloweentown and the mortal world from an evil warlock. Kimberly J brown and Philip van Dyke were nominated for a young artist and young star reward respectively for best performance. while. neither actor won the success from this movie lead to 3 sequels for the franchise with original cast returning for almost all of them. Deemed to be a staple Halloween movie among millennials and Gen-Z this franchise continues to play on Disney Channel every year during "Monstober" and continues to be a beloved move to celebrate the Halloween season.
