Authorities cleared out an encampment in a wooded spot just south of Calbury last month, after locals reported thefts, threats, and even cars getting. Chased or hit. It was on private land in Foothills County, about 1 kilometer west of the Creekstone area, and near Cerroco Golf Club. Calbury police teamed up with Ocotox RCMP and County Sheriff's to dismantle the site over two days, March 23rd and 24th. Things got serious when a road worker faced a knife threat from someone there. Complaints piled up about suspicious folks hanging around, making the neighborhood uneasy. One guy was nabbed on the spot for outstanding warrants and trespassing. He popped back the next day, so they arrested him again. Cops hauled away four trailer loads of stuff, including tarps, bins, blankets, knives, bikes, and trash. They offered him support services in a free ride into Calgary for resources, but he turned it down flat.
