Election Forecasts: Labour, Conservatives, Greens, Lib Dems, Independents

0:00On April 30th, we're heading into the final week of campaigning for the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Senedd and English local elections. A top elections forecaster, conservative Lord Robert Hayward, dropped his predictions last night on ITV's Pest and Show. He's known and Westminster for his neutral, detailed breakdowns that parties actually take seriously. Hayward sees Labour taking a huge hit, losing 1,850 seats across England. That spells real trouble for Keir Starmer, way worse than some papers predicted. Meanwhile, reform UK comes out on top as the big winner, grabbing 1,550 seats, mostly outside London, pulling votes from, both Labour and the Tories. On the conservative side, they're down 600 seats. Many from councils last contested in that 2021 vaccine bounce year. Greens look set to gain 500 seats in London and middle class spots in other cities, maybe even snagging a mayoralty or a council. Lib Dems pick up 150, but they'll need council wins to stay in the mix.
