Elderly Man Killed in On-Ramp Accident

A 77-year-old man died Friday night in Polk County after a vehicle hit him while he tried to cross an on-ramp from US Route 27 to Interstate 4. Deputies and fire rescue crews arrived around 8 p.m. to find Antonio Sanchez Jr. of Babson Park unresponsive on the west side of the ramp. He was pronounced dead right there at the scene. Sanchez have been running across the on-ramp when a Chevrolet suburban struck him according to investigators. The driver stopped and fully cooperated with deputies and officials do not expect any charges against that person.
