0:00A woman lost her life crossing I-10 East near downtown El Paso when an 81-year-old driver and a 2016 Kia Soul struck her. She got rushed to the hospital but didn't survive her injuries and police listed the pedestrian being on the highway as a key factor in the crash. This hit was one of three major pedestrian incidents that same Sunday, shaking up the community with back-to-back dangers on the roads. It's now the 14th traffic fatality inside El Paso City limits this year in 2026, actually down from 19 at this point last year. El Paso Police Special Traffic Investigations Unit is still digging into what went wrong, reminding us all to watch every step in turn out there. I'm Cory with the story and you've been listening to El Paso News today, AI-powered local news.
