Eddie Bauer Files for Bankruptcy, Liquidating Stores

0:00On March 16th, here's the latest out of Durham, Eddie Bauer, the outdoor clothing brand started back in 1920, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company is now liquidating all of its brick-and-mortar stores across the United States after failing to find a buyer for its retail side. Eddie Bauer falls under catalyst brands, which also handles Brooks Brothers, JC Penny, Arrow Postale, Lucky Brand, and Nautica. Luckily, those other brands are not impacted by this move. In North Carolina, shoppers are losing several locations, including spots in Asheville, Charlotte, Concord, Nagshead, and Winston Salem. The one store in the Triangle area sits at Carolina Premium Outlets in Smithfield. That Smithfield outlet is in its final push to clear out inventory, and could stay open for a few more weeks.
