As the 2026 NFL Draft approaches on April 23rd in Pittsburgh, fans of the New York Giants are reflecting on the team's draft, Legacy. One standout from the early days came in the 1930s when the Giants picked offensive tackle Ed Witseth, fourth overall in 1937. Witseth hit the ground running as a rookie, earning second team all NFL honors right away. The next year, he stepped up even more with first team all NFL recognition and a pro-bowl nod, then helped the Giants beat the Green Bay Packers, 23-17 in the NFL Championship game. Over four seasons, he played in 44 games with 22 starts, anchoring the line in a tough, run-focus era, and before that, he starred.
