Eagles Trade Sydney Brown to Falcons

The Philadelphia Eagles are trading safety, Sydney Brown to the Atlanta Falcons after just one full season with the team. In return, the Eagles move up in the draft, grabbing the 114th overall pick in the fourth round, instead of 122nd. And the 197th in the sixth round over their original 215th spot. Brown joined the Eagles as a third round pick, number 66 overall, back in 2023. He flashed potential with the 99 yard pick 6 as a rookie, but tore his ACL in the final game that year. After missing time in 2024, he settled into special teams and couldn't beat out rookie Drew McCuba for a starting role this season. Fans and analysts see this as the Eagles clearing space in the secondary after losing Reed Blankenship to free agency. Brown started just three games since his rookie year, and even with McCuba sidelined by a broken leg, the team turned to Marcus Epps instead.
