The Philadelphia Eagles are trading for backup quarterback Andy Dalton from the Carolina Panthers. In exchange, Carolina gets a 2027th round draft pick. The deal is pending Dalton's physical exam. League sources confirmed the move on Wednesday. The Panthers put the 38-year-old Dalton on the trade block last month. They just signed Kenny Pickett in free agency to backup Bryce Young. Dalton joins Jalen Hertz and Tanner McKee on the Eagles roster. McKee has one year left on his rookie deal. This adds experience depth behind Hertz. Dalton is heading into his 16th NFL season and fourth straight as a backup. He win 1 in 6 in 7 starts for Carolina over the past few years. His last start this year was a rough one. With 175 passing yards, three turnovers, and seven sacks in a big loss to Buffalo. Meanwhile, the trade gives the Eagles another veteran option if needed.
