This is Corey, with the story, with NFL News Today, powered by the Daily News Now. Subscribe for daily updates on your team. The Philadelphia Eagles are bolstering their safety position with some key moves ahead of the upcoming season. They signed veteran JT. Great to a one-year contract and brought back Marcus Epps on a new deal, adding experience depth to the secondary. Earlier this week, the team traded safety Sydney Brown to the Atlanta Falcons. In exchange, they picked up draft selections number 114 and number 197, while giving up picks number 122 and number 215. This comes right after the Eagles dealt a 2027 7th round pick to the Carolina Panthers for backup quarterback Andy Dalton. Before these changes, their safety group was thin, with just Andrew McCuba, Brown, and Andre Sam on the roster following Reed Blankenship's exit. Michael Carter II re-worked his contract and my slide over to help his safety as well.
These steps show the front office focusing on stability and flexibility. With draft weekend approaching, the Eagles now have more picks to play with while building a stronger back end.
