Eagles Sign Dameon Pierce, Crowded Backfield Awaits

Philadelphia Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman made a move this week, agreeing to a one-year deal with running back Damian Pierce on Thursday. Pierce enters his fifth season in the NFL, where he spent most of his time with the Houston Texans. He rushed for 939 yards as a rookie and looked like a breakout star. Injuries have held him back, though, as he has never played more than 14 games in a single season. Last year, a serious preseason quartet air sidelined him, leading to his release by Houston in November. The Kansas City Chiefs picked him up later that season to help with thin roster. Now in Philly, Pierce joins a crowded backfield with Saekwan Barkley, Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley, and Carson Steele.
