About this episode
Yuta was given a smart phone for his birthday, however it comes with one condition: he must use it to film his mother's degradation and eventual death due to illness. As he documents his mother's passing in real time, he is unable to process the whole thing near the end, and runs away. After editing in an explosion, showing the film to/and traumatizing his middle school class, and eventually falling into despair, Yuta decideds to end it all, only to be saved by a strange girl Eri on a hospital rooftop. Now with this girl, the two of them are going to make a movie that will make everyone cry. This week, Matt, Sam, Jae, and Jacob read and discuss Goodbye, Eri by Tatsuki Fujimoto.
Content Warning: This discussion deals with themes of death and suicide.
