It's March 5, here's your Durham news in two minutes. Durham City leaders are set to receive an update Thursday afternoon on a $10 million revitalization project along Fayette Bill Street. This main corridor runs through the historic African American Haiti community in East Durham. The funding was allocated back in 2024 to tackle long-standing inequities in the area. Haiti has faced heavy disinvestment, especially after the Durham freeway cut through a decade ago. Members aim to restore the neighborhood's past vibrancy with efforts like business incubation and street beautification. The project addresses deep community impacts from past urban development. The first $1,750,000 went toward repairs and services at key properties in Haiti. Other phases focus on supporting local businesses and improving the overall look. As of January, the city had already spent more than $853,000. Members will discuss progress and next steps during Thursday's work session, special thanks
