Duplantis Shatters Pole Vault Record

0:00On March 13th, here's the latest out of Sydney. Armand Mondo du Plantis, the American-born Swedish polevolter, has smashed the men's world record again, clearing 6.31 meters. This marks his 15th world record, and he's raised the bar by just one centimeter each time, since grabbing his first back in 2020. He pulled off the jump at the Mondo Classic, an indoor meet named after him where he trains, stretching his winning streak to 38 straight. Victory, stating back to August 2023. Only the legendary Ukrainian valter, Sergei Bubka, has broken the record more often, with 17 outdoor marks and 18 indoor ones in the 80s and 90s, before track officials merged them into one record in 2000. Du Plantis already holds three outdoor world titles and two Olympic gold, and next week he's heading to Poland for the World Athletics Indoor.
