A 60-year-old fitness instructor lost her life on March 12th when a suspected drunk driver hit her while she crossed the street near White Rock, Lake Endalus. The crash happened around 10-19 pm at 2700 North Buckner Boulevard. 21-year-old Carnell Louis Watkins III was behind the wheel of a silver Toyota Yaris and got arrested right there for intoxication. Man slaughter, a second degree felony charge. The police noticed Watkins had bloodshot eyes, smelled of alcohol, and failed several field sobriety tests showing balance issues in eye movements. A witness reported he was speeding beforehand. Nulls was a community favorite who led fitness classes for seniors, helping them stay active and healthy. Her family remembers her as a devoted grandmother always giving back. Watkins has a prior DWI arrest from September with Commerce Police. That test results from a warrant drawn sample at the hospital are still pending as the case moves forward. That wraps Dallas News Today, brought to you with AI.
