0:00On March 28th, a 54-year-old Birmingham driver named Jason Walker just got hit with a two-year-eight-month prison sentence after a crash. Seriously injured two pedestrians in their 60s. It happened just before 1pm on December 16th, 2024, near Franklin Beach's road and Sir Herbert Austin Way in Northfield, when his black Mercedes plowed into the man and woman. West Midlands Police dug into it and found Walker was clocked at 49-56 miles per hour right before impact nearly double the 30-mile per hour limit there. He got arrested for causing serious injury by dangerous driving, pleaded guilty and Birmingham Crown Court locked him up this past Tuesday March 24. Cases like this hit hard, showing how one bad choice at the wheel can shatter lives, but hopefully the sentence sends a clear message to slow down and drive safe out there.
