Driver Jailed for Fatal London Crash

0:00On March 6th, a driver in Central London has been sentenced to eight years in prison after a crash that killed a 20-year-old university student. Last year? The incident happened on the strand on March 18th when 27-year-old Christopher Jackson from Southampton lost control of his van. It smashed into an iron gate that injured two pedestrians, then veered onto a flowerbed and struck Aliyah Muhammad, who was sitting on a bench. Aliyah was a second-year student at Keynes College, London, studying physics and philosophy. Her family called her an incredible daughter, and she sadly died right there at the scene. Two others, Iram Yoldus and Yaman Belmesis, suffered serious injuries from the flying gate. Jackson had already pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of serious injury by dangerous driving. At the old Bailey on Friday, the judge handed down eight years for the death charge with three-year terms for the injuries to run at the same time. He will serve two-thirds before parole, lose his license for five years plus time served,
