The boys are back in town.

Friday night, they'll be dressed to kill down at Dino's bar and grill.

The drink will flow and the blood will spill.

And if the boys want to fight, you better let them.

So it's sort of this idea of like 70s.

You can imagine cars and going out with your friends on a Friday night and driving around and having a good time.

People being away and then coming back home and meeting up with old friends and celebrating.

And it's sort of a nostalgic vibe, but a good one.

And the band, of course, Finn Lizzy.

And they were out of Dublin.

They were formed in Dublin and they had Phil Linnett, who was a black...

One of the most prominent and early famous black musicians out of Ireland.

There weren't too many Irish people in Dublin, but Phil Linnett was one of them.

And he apparently said when he was a kid, he didn't realize that he was black.

He just didn't think of himself as being any different than anyone else.

And he was like, okay, just who he was, you know, he noticed.

You know, he didn't really think of himself as being different from any other Irish person.

But they formed in 1969.

And the main song right here was Phil Linnett, the bass player and sort of leader singer of the band.

Brian Downey on the drums, guitarist Eric Bell.

And an organist named Eric Rickston.

Rickston left after a couple months and Bell left in 1973, was replaced by Gary Moore.

And then they had a few different... they had a bunch of different changes over the years.

But they had a hit with the single Whiskey in the jar.

Whiskey in the jar, which was an old Irish folk song.

Which they adapted in a rock and roll version.

That was kind of their first hit.

And then Metallica, years later Metallica did a version of that song Whiskey in the jar for their album Garage Inc.

1972 Whiskey in the jar, 1976.

They had a hit with this one.

The boys are back in town.

And another one waiting for an alibi.

A couple of years later in 1979 was a big hit for them as well.

And their influences are kind of all over the place.

Blues, soul, music, psychedelic rock, and even Irish folk music, factoring in there.

But yeah, a great band and certainly had an interesting place in the history of rock music.

Checking out the have a great album called a live and dangerous, a great live album.

If you're looking for a starting point with Finn Lizzy, that's a good one.
