Earlier this week, Daumann stunned the NFL by telling the Bears he's retiring after just five seasons. Fans from the Associated Press and ESPN say the news came Tuesday, but no one knows his reasons yet since it hasn't been announced publicly. Fans and stars like quarterback Caleb Williams were caught off guard by the move. It runs in the family too. His dad, Chris Daumann, retired at age 30 after playing for the San Francisco 49ers and winning Super Bowl, 29. Daumann inked a three-year deal worth $42 million with the Bears.
