Drake Jackson Stays with Commanders on One-Year Deal

The defensive end agreed to a one-year contract extension that keeps him on the team through the 2026 season. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, made the announcement with no other details released. Jackson first signed with Washington last October. He spent time on injury reserve while recovering from patellar tendon surgery to fix a knee injury from the prior year. He made it back for the final three games of the season and notched three tackles. Before that setback, he had shown promise in the league. The San Francisco 49ers drafted Jackson in the second round back in 2022. He racked up six sacks over 23 games there before the injuries sidelined him completely in 2024. Now healthy, Jackson hopes to play a full season for the first time since his rookie year. This deal gives him a fresh shot with the commanders.
