Don Davis Secures $54M for NC's 1st District

This cash targets rural growth, key infrastructure fixes, and stronger public safety across Eastern North Carolina counties. The funding comes from fiscal year 2026 community projects. It supports upgrades like wastewater improvements in Tarbro to cut pollution in the Tar River, new housing and resources for seniors in Green, County, and street repaving plus downtown work in Williamston. Communities are already feeling the boost, especially first responders. In Birdie County, $2 million will build a new emergency communications center with fresh equipment. Ahaski gets vehicles for its teams while Hartford County Sheriff's Office scores car cameras and computers. Davis handed over a $1 million check to the Williamston Fire Department for a brand new fire truck. Other big wins include a million dollars for medical equipment at a center in Washington
