Dolphins Trade Waddle, Rebuild with Draft Picks

The Miami Dolphins traded wide receiver Jalen Waddle to the Denver Broncos on Tuesday.

In return, they got a 2026 first round pick at number 30, a 2026 third round pick, and

a swap of 2026. Fourth round picks. This move continues their shift away from the high-powered

but underachieving 2023 offense. Nearly all the key players and coaches from that 2023

squad are now gone, including the quarterback, top receivers, running backs, and much of

the offensive line and staff. Only right tackle Austin Jackson and running back to Vaughn

Asshane remain as major holdovers and even they might not stick around long. Dolphins

fans are seeing a clear rebuild under new general manager John Eric Sullivan. The team

now has seven picks in the first three rounds of next April's draft, including two first

rounders. This dot-pile marks a break from the old-win now approach that prioritized speed

over balance and defense. Meanwhile, the focus is on strengthening the offensive line, the

team's strongest unit right now. They've restructured Jackson's deal to keep him, sign tackled

Jarmory Salier for Ry Guard, and added depth like Charlie Heck. The core includes center

Aaron Brewer, left guard Jonas Avionea, and left tackle Patrick Paul. Training Campbell

test if this new foundation holds up, but the rebuild is off to a promising start. Gone
