Disney on Ice Clinic: Train with Pros, Meet Mickey

0:00From Tampa Bay, this is your March 6th update. Disney on ice performers in Tampa recently hosted a special skating clinic for local youth ahead of their shows at Benchmark International Arena. The event gave young skaters a chance to train with the pros from the touring production, which runs through March 8th. The clinic targeted members of the Southwest Florida Figure Skating Club, based at the Elenton Ice & Sports Complex. That group aims to bring figure skating to kids as a fun sport, hobby, or creative outlet in the community. Young participants, aged 10-18, got hands-on lessons in choreography, storytelling, and stage techniques straight from the cast. They also peaked behind the scenes at how the performers prepare for the big-eye shows. Meanwhile, the current production is Mickey's search party, where Mickey and friends hunt for tinkerbell, joined by characters like Moana and Stitch. It's an interactive adventure packed with Disney favorites. Those continue this weekend with 8 performances, 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, plus 11 a.m.
