You know, it's funny. Bitcoin teaches you a strange relationship with time. It's like
the longer you hold it, the less rushed you feel. Hardblock is built around that idea,
steady, buying clear fees, no pressure. If you're discovering Bitcoin slowly, hardblock
makes that easy.
I see the world through an entirely different lens.
It doesn't just give you confidence, but it gives you hope.
It's like we're swandering our energy, our life force, so Bitcoin is changing that.
For me, Bitcoin is like, it's healing energy.
It gives you a kind of, of a sense, feeling, right?
Well, travel, girls, deep and deep and deep.
And the more the words of the doors, the time to hesitate is through.
Discover it.
What are we doing?
Rustin, what's going on, man?
DJ, how are we doing, brother? How are we doing it?
I had Arvy Burr on a couple of episodes ago, and it's just such a trip to hear the voice
on the other end of a familiar voice, you know, on the other end of the mic.
But it's kind of almost a part of your daily ritual in so many respects.
I mean, you do the Bitcoin news show, on your head of news, it's simply Bitcoin.
And you do this sort of 15 minute news show, daily news show, hyper bullish.
I actually don't know how you do it every single day and maintain that level of energy.
It's not man.
Well, I got to tell you in clown world, it's kind of hard not to be bullish.
Almost every single thing that comes out.
And it's wild now, right?
We have the craziest foot ever.
Epstein is Satoshi.
Yeah, we had to put up with that.
I remember when I came out, I was like, you got to be fucking kidding me right now.
We're in Goblin town.
And then you drop, now we got to fight this foot too, and then the normies.
It's a hassle, but it is so exciting to like what you said there to be a familiar voice to someone is completely wild and insane for me to be that for you.
Because never would have thought this would have taken shape and become what it is.
But yeah, yeah, to be in the trenches, fighting the fun, delivering the news and head of news, it's kind of like funny.
It's kind of a gag because my original title got struck down.
Apparently it's browned upon has a bad connotation, but at least it was honest.
Because like you said, we're hyper bullish.
My original title was Chief Propagandist.
We always have a bullish Bitcoin twist, but corporate shot it down.
So Adam News is going to have to do.
Well, you got to take what you can get, right?
I mean, Nico does like to toe the line as I as off air as I'm sure he's as bullishly regarded as the lot of you.
He's got to do the do, right?
Now, I got to get I got to clear something up.
It's just just dawn on me just then.
So after arguably years of watching Simply Bitcoin and hearing you speak, I'm like, what the fuck have I heard?
I know there's got to, you know, I'm not I'm not saying that you're putting on an act like with the voice.
But there's a tinge of penguins of Madagascar in there that the lead, the lead dude.
You know, there's a line in the film because they've got their spin off movie from the movie Madagascar and he's like.
I find reasoning tedious and boring will use false.
Yes.
Absolutely.
That's a man that gets at the heart of what we were talking about a minute ago.
It's like kind of how my show is.
It's a little unhinged and things like that.
I find other things very boring.
I listen to metal and like hardcore punk because love stories and everything sunshine and roses.
It's just fiction and it bores me.
Something more honest and real.
Even though there is the, you know, I try to have fun and joke.
There is a truth and there's a lot of little nuggets sometimes we tuck in there to fight the powers that be.
But to be on the front lines in this thing with everybody.
And to just be in this moment is absolutely insane.
I don't think you were talking about how we came how we came to Bitcoin.
And it's kind of like.
I just had to look at it because from 2008 I was finishing high school as Ron Paul campaign.
And the in the Fed and this stuff started and this is just coming out of the oh eight financial crisis or it was unfolding.
At that time and I was just very curious about this stuff got into Ron Paul.
Right in the Fed.
Got into high-eck and me sees and those things.
I was already a 80 year old boomer gold bug at like 19.
And as far as my ethos and understanding of fiat money.
So it wasn't until 2020 though.
That I finally bought Bitcoin first heard about it in 2013 thought it was just native to silk road didn't make the distinguishment that it was an independent you know they were using you know these types of things.
So then when I looked again and it was March 2020 was after it crashed but it crashed to like 3000 at that time.
Which was like 100x what it was in 2013 it might have been like 300 or something around that time.
Yeah that was one of the.
Is it the funniest day coolest days I don't know it was pretty happy I mean Bitcoin Twitter was cool that day shall we say.
It was just knowing kind of what happened in no eight.
And then knowing helicopter money is coming and then you just spend a little time with Bitcoin and you understand it's mathematical superiority to gold.
And then also the ability to transfer that in 10 minutes anywhere on the planet like immediately it hit me like gold should be.
So Jim Rickards modern gold theory with international trade and energy and different things like that you just plug in Bitcoin there.
It all makes sense and then say you mix in layered money.
Nick botia and those things then you can see where these stable coins and the kind of the fiat side of that.
So inflationary units paired with a deflationary store value unit something that can be manipulated and silenced or something that you can never be censored.
You see these two.
And you're doing narratives and worlds playing out and as time goes forward and on you just keep getting pointed.
Further and further toward Bitcoin not only as an investment but as like a necessity in a world god mad that's kind of how it feels.
And necessity in a world gone mad it sounds so insane because it is effectively magic internet money created by some.
We don't know who it is I mean yeah we can go check the code and and do all of those things but ultimately this is a better idea than whatever the fox going on out there like this is kind of where we're at it's.
That's clown mode turned up to unfathomable.
Volumes you know.
So that's how you get promoted in clown world I think that's what we've all learned in the recent weeks of how you get into different clubs things of that nature is to be the most bio evil disgusting.
Just scum of the earth and you know there's all that that the fiat the connections there with materialism it seems there is also in this movement against materialism.
And that's also comes from over time your character is going to change based on the money you use in a way.
You see this inflationary money it leads to a change in social behavior amongst people it makes them desperate that's why you have the casino gulag that's why you have only fans that's why you have.
Big farm on what they do that's why you have to have glyphosate it's built.
Not not built to last it's just built for now whereas Bitcoin is built to last like a thousand years if nothing crazy happens well probably last longer than humans if that's the case and the cyborgs do take control as some some speculate.
Yeah we're we're an interesting times the perfect time for the Bitcoin standard to take hold and.
I guess it's just oh go ahead go ahead I'm just going to say I guess the thing that I mean you write about that those environmental I guess almost like epigenetic type factors that that come into a civilization a society.
From that that stem from you know the money and it will favor a certain more if the money is degenerate it will favor more degenerate things as outcomes.
And so the thing that I think is it's difficult for me to wrap my head around and you know Jeff does his best to be like listen you got to just opt out and just direct your energy elsewhere.
But when you go directing your energy elsewhere and then you just met with a wall of ignorance effectively you know you're like I hear you complaining about all of the fucked up things that's gone on in the world but trust me voting harder is not going to solve this.
You have been around the block a few times surely you have recognized this realize this by now I have an idea can I show you something it might take a little bit of time to get your head around you got to read a couple of books maybe.
Hello you could probably get guys want to read half of it for you but my point is that it is there that it is a solution for you to you know turn your attention to and and look into and and you can get less degenerate outcomes infinitely less to generate outcomes if you were to just direct some of your time and energy and attention to understanding this thing.
So I guess it's kind of what you're doing in your own in your own way with the new show is to try and deliver the orange pill in a way that might resonate with someone who.
Things that's in and out money for nerds basically.
Absolutely trying to connect with with like minded individuals people like me that maybe.
Libertarians or came so you know in that libertarian await a lot of people may have learned even cypherdeen said that he learned some Austrian economics from the likes of Peter shift and those guys but.
You learn in studying the the superiority the Bitcoin presents but you also know the value thesis of big of gold and why why it's doing what it's doing in times like this and Bitcoin always ends up running harder and in times when tens of trillions are being added to gold and silver.
Bitcoin's time of becoming soon and Peter shift will be humbled eventually he's got his victory that now though that God bless him you know he's certainly living it out which is cool good to see.
Yeah he's got enjoy his moment in the sun he earned it took him 40.
At our disposal and it's like a lot of people say.
Do you have more time or money if you don't have as much time and you've been holding gold your whole life.
You know they they've got that whereas the younger the younger actors millennials zoomers.
You have a superior savings tool that can make up for everything that was taken from you.
During stolen from you during your life thus far there's one way to get it back that makes sense and it's it's easy and in a sense is the DC and not easy because right now you're seeing how people get lucky when Bitcoin falls 50% from its peak.
But you double double down you see what Michael sailors doing making big buys down here and on the flip side is just going to benefit everyone that much more when it comes around just like we're in a volatile world Bitcoin is a scarce asset it's going to move faster it's going to move harder these things are our natural they're just providing better opportunities.
To accumulate because when when when the nation states or the big institutions really start getting after this thing Bitcoin doesn't announce itself it reveals itself not in the moment you buy but in the moment you stop thinking of it as a trade starts sensing it as a discovery.
This episode is supported by hard block and Australian Bitcoin exchange built for people finding Bitcoin in their own time without pressure without performance without noise.
Hardblock keeps the mechanics simple flat fees no spreads and a calm way to stack sets over time with DC and if you're still listening more than buying there's a quiet place to learn over at learn.hardblock.com.au
If you've been listening to this pod for a while you already know Bitcoin is something you discover hard block helps you do it honestly use code discovering Bitcoin all one word for $10 worth of free Bitcoin when signing up for a new fully verified account at hardblock.com.au.
Yeah man dropped out a little bit there but I've got most of the gist of of what you were saying and I'm totally right there with you.
I mean Elbato who's been around the block a few times you know he posted one of the OG like you know Bitcoin Twitter photo when I came in was like okay this guys making sense I don't know who this Elbato is but he's saying things that vibrate with you.
He made a post the other day basically just giving a roll call of Bitcoin obituaries and it was like 2013 Bitcoin is dead at 13 bucks.
2018 Bitcoin is dead at 3,000 2022 Bitcoin is dead at 16,000 and then 2026 Bitcoin is dead at 64,000.
Bitcoin obituaries can get more expensive.
Yeah it's like God just look at the look at that data and try and make up your mind you know it's it's just a crazy crazy dichotomy and and there are you know it's hard not to feel like you're in a bubble you know like a little echo chamber
a little bit Bitcoin buddies and you Bitcoin content and you know you Bitcoin trinkets and and then everyone outside of that's just like what the fuck are you talking about man.
Yeah you're the creepy kid in the attic at Thanksgiving we're like come down dinner's ready you know come show him your coin collection.
It kind of like fuck you buddy.
No it's just we are in the information arbitrage right now it's so crazy like you think it would be especially it would be a wider race to adopt amongst people.
After this inflation that we had since 2020 and things are still up 50 30 20% and different goods and housing and inflation and different energy costs are insane yet people still.
And that is like I see a Bitcoin price as a notifier of the knowledge of the public that the Fed is just fucking them.
So when Bitcoin's price runs we were it's like a little bit of an awakening took place and more and more coming on board.
But yeah there's also the aspect of the benefit the weaponization of a sense a country or major institution could use Bitcoin in a sense as with aggressive accumulation.
And supporting that wealth but it could it by allowing the state mechanism 40 years down the road to in those debts does it prolong the agony of the state that we're dwelling in now is a good or will it force compliance and a sound money.
It's just going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
It's definitely in you mean you're at the front lines.
In the narrative trench warfare as we say of all of this you know so you you were talking before how you were effectively primed to rock Bitcoin.
Because you fell down the Austrian icon rabbit hole and the libertarian yeah you know cannon long before Bitcoin.
So you find this thing and I guess that.
Makes a lot of those theories and discussions and writings a lot more practical you bring them into the real world which is what I.
Yeah make some actionable and proven because the tool is there to show it now which is so crazy because you just had conjectured and then people screaming at Karl Marx and Keynes.
And screaming into the wilderness screaming into the wind and it totally like when you when you read that stuff.
And I'm going to say I discovered all of that post Bitcoin but I can imagine reading that stuff and thinking great now what I can see that it's true I can see that it works that's fantastic.
But the reality is that I'm surrounded by leeches and takes.
Yeah see out politicians the only politician we knew at our time that ever talked about this was Ron Paul up until today we have massive Rand Paul seems like Rokana gets into some of that.
But it is becoming a little I mean it's a mainstream topic the fed inflation the fed chairman getting fired.
This has never been discussed or talked about but it just has to feel like this acceleration in all these this Bitcoin has had to have accelerated or pushed all of this forward into seeing how fraudulent the monetary system is in the promotion of it of Bitcoin from the various sides of the political aisle and spectrum or.
Different countries and parliaments and representatives from all over the world coming around to see this as the solution to the major problem everyone is facing and that is a centrally controlled managed monetary system that leeches off the public to benefit the likes of the people you probably read about in the in the Epstein files recently.
I try not to give my energy to that that the speakable disgusting information but it's kind of hard not to when you realize you know the entire world and almost almost all all of the culture that has made an impact I guess on the most most people's lives from the music industry the film industry all that sort of stuff is
is
brought it's created by fucking pit of files but anyway that's not really a road I want to I want to go down.
Tell me about that moment that you had all this information around Austrian economics libertarianism et cetera of volunteerism and then you finally connect that dot and you plug it into this Bitcoin thing in that Bitcoin penny drops.
Oh man it was the man it was like hell the this is this is insane the the kind of knowing the future potential or understanding how that could work game theory out of the gate and those things it was just like the helicopter money's coming they're pumping out these the forcing people into different things and that nature
kind of see when you know like the why more cycle on those things you know that each liquidity injection has to be multiples bigger than the last so you know 2008 and the stimulus tarp all of that it was going to be multiples bigger and then also you had the fear campaign behind
virus and those things but you had repo markets doing what they've been doing now as well so it was kind of like you can see that happening but it's also do they allow events to create the excuses to provide the solutions that they have to have and you can just see the
down and there's not going to be any way of putting that genie back in the bottle they printed like 40% of the money supply over the course of a year or two and now they're just trying to further intervene to fix the fuck ups of their past interventions and the only answer they have
is to print and to base the currency to in a way inflate away the debt because it's so insurmountable but at the same time while this is happening in other countries know this and know your feeble there's economic warfare taking place all around the globe and whether it's been from bricks or the US moves and Venezuela and different things like that different monetary regimes being upended
that eats away so if you get a new person to eat up demand for pressurys and the dollar then these other people escaping the dollar like China and that it helps mitigate some of the damage and the inflation that's the same with the stable coin issuers you see this happening now is yield curve control and this is what it's like the the process of a country going bankrupt is just like that
just being followed to a tee they just put different names on it but it kind of felt like that was going to happen in 2020 and I was I mean and not not doing that great just a teacher and coach but I was deep into the weeds on this stuff and I remember yeah I just I couldn't sleep I was reading everything because it was just it was so your full of so much hope because you see that this sound money future and that can
there is a possibility of that happening and that this is the technology to push that forward as long as you have central banks you're going to continue to have a and you know the different thing the money in politics and these items will occur
and the revolving door continues no matter who you vote for you get McCain you're going to get war money printing and it seems like now pestilence and the rest so what you can do is just short the state and long freedom and that's the biggest vote you could make is with your money
haven't you heard that before vote with your money will this is fucking it it's staring us in the face and these people are there they're like one of those suicide bombers but with with with our own country they don't care they sold out to the highest better not even the highest better seven K do it for some people
but you know this at the time we're living in and if you want to at least have some claim and some say in your future it seems like big and big coin is that little light in the darkness it's almost without it you're completely absorbed by this news and everything around it it's a complete black pill
and that's what I kind of had when I was you know libertarian and in those things was the other yet fuck there's nothing we can do about it and also what made me sick about libertarians is not even actually competing just larping and that's what wrong Paul did he said fine fuck it I'll run Republican and win 12 times so until you you stop larping and actually start competing you don't have a lot of room to create a
to to critique these people because you're not competing against them you're actually ostracizing and making it impossible for you to win so it's just like doing whatever you can to wave some sort of
some badge but when when you have all this happening you do see a hopeful ending and and a benefit in holding sound money
and the understand that by not holding sound money by taking part in this system you're helping fuel the whole thing
yeah and that the the sad part is kind of this scene the people that you do care but not really coming around to it or just dismissing it when you knew how beneficial it could it could be for them but volatility gets beat and you were kind of trained right
that by by low cell high that that that's how people get poor and traders get wrecked long term mindsets are where people benefit and generate wealth and that's where a DCA strategy mitigates volatility and gives you all the benefits on the long end so yeah find that that light in the darkness right now is Bitcoin yeah the darkness is all brought forth by the state
it's totally true man fuck those guys that they are just all they're definitely all just our sole pedophiles that they can fuck themselves
Leonard E. Reid talks about you know one improved unit where he's doing a there's a video on YouTube you can look it up
he dims the lights in a classroom and he just turns like that it's almost like just at a photon level this little tiny light
and you know he talks about it being representative of an individual and then another individual finds another individual finds another individual in a compounds and eventually the lamp is able to illuminate the entire room against the darkness and that's that's the Bitcoin network that's the adoption metaphor I like to think about a lot you know
and and the shows like yourself and I mean the whole suite of simply Bitcoin you know the whole the whole enterprise is is effectively one big orange pilling unit out there on the unit
and when you dive in like you dive into the rabbit hole you start looking online like for me it was I was seeing everything happening and I'm immediately like this is the mark of the beast
what was happening with or you know Fauci and all that crap and I was like no way you guys can be doing this or taking this different things
and it was a teacher so they were doing you know forcing masks on kids all this different crazy stuff
that's the gross yeah yeah just complete madness and knowing none of that was but when I was digging into Bitcoin and then when I got on Twitter it was the discovery hey there's this one group of people that fucking get it like everywhere
whether it's sound money politics big pharma steak and eggs son in your balls these people are like how how can they be like 20 for 20 like that
but it was like this is the closest thing to that kind of Ron Paul revolution movement that is that but it's on steroids and it's global
and there's also the the personal interest and benefit the game theory of adopting it and the benefit that that provides you the longer longer you how to stay in
yeah it's just crazy how has discovering Bitcoin changed you
oh man major ways so I kind of have this you know I was teaching coaching getting burned out all the different things
try to apply for different jobs and media because I have that background and newspaper and a little broadcasting as well
but yeah and nothing would work works for free ended up resigning because I just felt like if I'm going to I got to go all in if I'm going to I'm going to land something here
so it took about a year and a half to two years before Jacob connected me with Nico you know and you got a year and a half to two years no salary grinding it out trying to find a place
doing volunteer work help get the publications and Bitcoin news going did research and news for
Kathy Bitcoin back in the day and nothing was sticking or providing a better opportunity shot down on a couple things and me and Nico connected
and it's it's taken a while but yeah I'm in a better place than I ever have been is and that's like on so many fronts
because it kind of figure realized and this is what Bitcoin to do you take take stake and responsibility in your life
I man I was I was an alcoholic for probably had to be like 12 years but I was like super functioning pretty healthy and all those things
but it was just yeah that was my way of coping with the black cross sense and then when I got going I kind of thought like I my personality and all these things
well I can't do like if I don't drink then I'm not ever going to be able to do a show I'm too you know too anxious or I'm you know different things like that
but then I actually got sober coming up on three years March 14th that's going to be awesome and man the channel is taking off the show is taking off
my life is better on all fronts got connected with God Christ is King that it's kind of like learning to be humble and put things in perspective
and you learn how to value the right things and there's different fiat poisons that are put in our lives and it gets a different people
that's why they're put there to monetize sin in a way and some people profit off of it
but when you rebalance those things and you start using sound money
you know you try to maximize yourself and your life and you realize that you know maybe my life is going to get better
maybe I should try to be healthy and do all these other things because I can be there for my kids or grandkids
or my nieces nephews or to see this company maybe get passed down to somebody or whatever it may be
to see the world order rebalanced under a sound money standards
something as wild as that but to believe that you're going to be able to take care of yourself
and your family in the future or have the ability to do that is great and then a lot of people
because they're stuck in the fiat hamster wheel they don't see that so that's why they get caught up
and it's time to look up or to go through the pain to get on the other side of it
because they're so trapped you know their paycheck to paycheck
what was it? It's like 75% of people don't have a thousand dollars in savings
it's something wild like that or to be able to handle a minor say to get their car fix
or something like that but you're told the economy is strong because of the stock market
which is just a bit based benchmark for inflation
yeah so if you see that's up that means inflation is actually higher than the reporting
and they haven't even started to cut rates yet
and that's going to be the real upending of a lot of things
so yeah just steady the course and when you have these things for us for me
I know it gets on me being pounding the news 24-7
I got to unplug sometimes especially with what the world the way it is today
because it's like no don't don't fall into the darkness
but yeah when you have that sound money that can benefit you in the future
you can plan and hope and that's something a lot of people don't have
and if you don't just treat it as an investment
just keep learning and building and growing is an individual
you're going to grow as an individual in so many other ways
you'll be a better friend, a better husband
you'll get humbled humbled and maybe find Christ
there's all sorts of things that can happen
I've seen it I've talked to so many people
that found Christ through different things
and their journey to get back out of that hole
it kind of began with Bitcoin, it's kind of crazy, it's empowering, it's a beautiful thing
and that's kind of something I try to do every day
to empower people through the tough times even when it feels bearish
or that hell fires raining down upon us
they can only rain that shit down for so long
and Bitcoin is the most resilient monetary technology on the planet
rain it down give us cheap stats and fuck off
it's I hear you, man
and in terms of that spiritual awakening coming to Christ
this is a safe space for that without a doubt
it's almost documented on this podcast over 150 odd episodes
where you can hear the wheels turning in my brain
and talking to various guests and stuff
and having them frame up all this stuff
it's quite extraordinary you know I've been thinking about that
what is it there's another like all these things become more visible over time
everything we're seeing like how manipulative
and I think it's because you can see through the incentives or the veil
because your foundations change
you're able to notice and see different things or manipulations
clarity by the machine
yeah it's putting sunlight on everything
you know and it's the greatest disinfectant
and it just just just banishes away all the bullshit
not immediately by any stretch of the imagination
but I mean you mentioned you know working in news media
beforehand and having that kind of training
and that that that inside
and you know pivoting to teaching and all this sort of stuff
and in a fiat world because I know this first hand
I used to work in news media
and all of that like in the fiat kind of you know
traditional legacy media
and man it would get me down it would just get me down
it was just just an awful space to be in
because you constantly reporting on bullshit
or or something super tragic
and that actually particularly if it was tragic
men that you had a you know mildly interesting day
you know I can remember the Fukushima news
totally 100 percent
yeah man it was it yeah
the incentives of that are so fucked up
but I mean you have to fall into that
I've noticed that even in Bitcoin and stuff
like price action is the thing that gets the eyeballs
when you're talking about Bitcoin
if you dive straight into something that's a little bit more
gentle, wholesome, possibly esoteric
I don't know something that's not necessarily
directly related to macro and to price
you know most people kind of glaze over and they're like
oh I don't know man
but this is just the time that we're at
and I don't know if we'll ever get to a point
in the world where our consciousness will be so evolved
that we won't need that trivial shit anymore
probably not I don't know
there may be a cohort of us
but that's the same as it ever was really
but yeah finding your peace and your
like your home I suppose
in that news media slash
even the teaching world you would have walked into the classroom
and there's just a bunch of disinterested kids
and then it would have all been compounded
by the fact that the bureaucracy behind it
the administrative state behind the school
would be like well we've got to allow them this safe space
so they've got to go and lie on you know
cushions and bean bags and stuff
because you know they finding math class stressful
or whatever it is
and they just completely capitulate
to these kids and don't give them any
frictional tension to overcome
and you're just there
and I can imagine with all of your libertarian background
you're just like pulling your hair out going
this is no no no this is not how people get better
and I don't know
maybe I can be like Ron Swanson
fight the fight the system from within
that was a futile effort
because it beats you down doesn't it
and then you just isolated
it's not like you can rock up to the
to the staff room
and and and be yourself
you know you've got to find that mask
to put on and it's
that's not sustainable
and it's the whole like it's
rather than to be educated
in the current system
it's more valuable
for them to learn to be compliant
that that seems what it's
what's all about
I'm not about that
I want them to be individuals
rugged individuals
and think for themselves
and stuff like that
that is not what public school
is for
I'm very glad
now I can educate people
that are seeking it
wanting to wanting to find out
or have an interest in some fashion
and you know
make them laugh, give them the news
and try to do it
as good as possible
try to be the best
at what I do
and just try to bring it every day
well three times a week
but helping
back each other
videos
and material
but it's incredible
it's fun
is the dream job
and opportunity for me
and I'm thankful for it
I can
you know all this stuff
just never would have been
if I never would have went down
Bitcoin rabbit hole
I'd still be stuck
in poor
and state education
Now I'm stuck and I'm poor
but at least I'm
live in the dream, baby
baby, here we go. You're doing it on your terms, man. This is the difference. Freedom
right versus, well, there are some differences. Totally. You can't trade in. Some of those
things are just intangible and way more valuable. This is a question I usually skip over,
I'll have late, but I don't think I think I think it fits. What if I can rephrase this? What have
you learned about yourself since discovering Bitcoin? This transformative effort, you know,
how does Bitcoin change you? It's like, well, it's done a 180 effectively. It's made you,
I mean, look, you quit alcohol. You're coming up on three years. That's enormous. That alone
is enormous. And then finding that piece with Christ, really dedicating yourself and leaning and
locking in to your role, it's simply Bitcoin, like all of these things. But in terms of,
I mean, did you think that you had that power within you? I don't know. It sounds retarded,
maybe. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I had a, there was a T and we actually played football
together back in high school and baseball. And we were code teachers at the school. And when I was
kind of getting into this stuff and I was talking to him, he told me recently, thank you, by the way,
he's doing very well from those few years ago when he started
buying Bitcoin. He loves the dips. He's a heathen for the dips. Good guy. But I remember we're
walking out one day and I sent him something. I was like, I think I could do that. He's like,
what do you mean? I think I could do a podcast. He's like, I don't know, man, that don't,
don't like quit your job or anything. You know, and then it was in the summer. My wife
coach softball and we were coaching a summer team. And every time we would come back to the hotel
in between games or days, I would catch up on the Bitcoin conference. And that was the one
where Ross phoned in from jail. Oh, yeah, that was a crazy one. 22. And I was just watching it.
I told my wife, you know, but I think one day, I could speak at or maybe like introduce the people
at one of these things. And she was just kind of, yeah, maybe you could. Fuck, I don't know.
Yeah, you got for me. But I kind of felt it that it was a few months later that I resigned and just
went on the journey and then got connected with Nico and the rest is history. But
yeah, that did have an inkling of a belief that it could have, but not how it's played out.
Yeah, it's, it's just funny to me that once you get that firm foundation of sound money,
you know, under your belt, like maybe we have like some actual savings. And I guess you just,
you develop the confidence to be like, all right, well, I can definitely factor a big time.
You know, take a little bit more risk. Go out on that risk over a little bit because I mean,
there's that mean that gets around, you know, current during, during bull markets and, you know,
those kind of like, you know, big coins up 15% on the day or whatever. And he's, you know,
boss tells you you're late and he's kind of looking at it. You know, like there is an element
of that because you just think, well, if worse comes to it, still down a little portion of my stack.
And I don't know, I'll take a couple of months off and I'll find something better.
You know, and it's not like that is so priceless that having that ability to, like,
that's fuck you money right there. Like, well, if you don't have the ability to see fuck you,
man, you got to play the rules. You got to play the game. And if the game sucks and the rules keep
changing, you know, underneath you, you're going to have a bad time. But if the rules are stable
and immutable and everybody has to play the same game, you can start to take a look around and
think, all right, well, what can I, what am I good at? What can I contribute a value to people
to the world? And what do you enjoy doing? What would be the, if you could go and do things,
what would you do? All of that. And it just, I always was kind of into the,
probably less than the Alex Jones, since 2009 and people like that. I've always
kind of listened to those guys that were out there, but at the end of the day,
always seemed to be the most honest. But they were frowned upon. If anyone's being banned,
you should probably go watch their show and see what they're saying. It's probably a good sign
to follow. You know, that's getting to know and watch and listen to Dr. Jack Cruz's stuff.
That's been crazy. But you have the time to reflect and look back and get this knowledge
that isn't in a textbook and different things that's out in the world and you're better informed.
You're probably going to be better maintained, health wise. I just see that everywhere.
Bitcoiners are big carnivore, keto people. They places, I went to the Alaska conference
and they got up, we got up at like five of the morning, jogged a mile and jumped and glacier
water. And there were like 30, 40 people doing it. So it's just a different outlook on life,
it seems. Bitcoiners have and I think as adoption spreads, that'll grow more and more.
People will have the time as they adopt to reflect and look at these different things
and have the time to go get informed rather than being trapped in the Fiat rat race.
Yeah. That's the thing, right? The time to be informed. I mean, you've got to have the will,
you've got to have will and you've got to have curiosity. Those are two things that I think
really aid a Bitcoiner into discovering this thing in the first place and diving down all those
rabbit holes. I also think too, in Bitcoin, you'll see people from all different political
spectrums. It's easy, easy and obvious to kind of see the libertarian types. But
how it crosses over because it's part of the bigger issue, puts those other things aside,
you see how meniscule and petty these other things we talk about are in contrast.
But it also feeds on to the old thing that freedom is popular and that's something that Bitcoin
is infecting both houses and different parts of the globe with a freedom virus that's slowly growing.
And I think we could be on the precipice of not a golden age, but an orange age.
I think so, man.
It's easier done than said. All you got to do is tap the boost button or set an amount of
sats to stream per minute while you're listening. Alternatively, if you want to sat me direct
via a lightning address, please send snaps and sats for sats of sats in support of the show
to discovering Bitcoin at primal.hand. Thank you for listening and thank you for your support.
I want to bring this into land, but I normally, I got two, two final questions,
but there's something that I've just been itching to, itching to discuss with you and that is
completely off topic here and completely self-indulgent, but talk to me a little bit about
what's your favorite heavy metal and punk rock band?
Oh, man. If I just had to do one, I don't know, just just open this stand of worms for a minute.
Metal, oh, man, I love all sorts of stuff, but a couple of favorite, probably have to be like slayer,
premium, mega death.
Okay, let's go off there for sex. So slayer, I dig slayer, I don't, I never got into slayer as much,
as anybody else. And I think because I didn't really enjoy the lack of melody.
Oh, definitely. It's just the rash. Yeah.
Whereas like Metallica, at least had that sense of melody. And you can say what you say, I mean,
like people like to take Metallica now and poke fun of them and
love the terrible drummer and all that stuff. Oh, I love Metallica too. Yeah, the can't,
their legends. And then, you know, there's the whole mega death, Dave Mustaine,
like some of his lyrics back in the day and rust in peace and stuff like that, they're
they're all time, they're fantastic. And to be able to play those guitar solos
and sing at the same time, it's like, get the fuck out.
Yeah, I think Dave might be the best, just pure talent on guitar all the time. One of them,
one. Yeah, he's nuts, he's nuts. So like, you're an old thrasher then from back in the day. I mean,
you a bit more like that. I love Lama God, flip not trivium. What I really like now are these hardcore
bands that have come out. They're killing it like knocks loose, code orange,
coupe like con. It's brutal. It's heavy, but it's a lot of fun. I'm going to have to look up
code orange for obvious reasons. But punk bands, I probably have to, you know,
rancid. I love a newer band turn style and angel dust.
Fantastic. I love music. Yeah, I mean, it's just it's just wild to me. Like, there's a
I, there's a bank called bleed from within out of school. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I have you've seen
them around, but they remind me of like early slipknot a little bit. Oh, yeah, they go hard.
Oh, yeah. I've seen some of them. Yeah, there's those old kill switching gauge videos from
when I'm playing in that in that end of hard. Oh, yeah, dude. What an epic. That's like,
that's the best. Yeah, man, it's, it's, and it's funny how I would like those worlds to meet
somewhere. I mean, they are kind of doing that in the Valley for Valley universe. But we just
got to get, you know, I probably got to spend a bit more time in there, but I just find every time
we go in there, there's like a Bitcoin song. There's some sort of like song that's been written,
but it's got Bitcoin lyrics and just kind of go right and actual song. Yeah, I don't know.
Anyway, I just needed to get that off my chest and and indulge a little bit on the music talk.
Oh, yeah, tons of good stuff coming like Rob Zombie and Manson are going on tour.
So coming back, the two thousands are coming back. That's for sure.
Oh, New Lamb of God is on the way. The singles are great.
Meshuga, you got time for Meshuga. Oh, Meshuga is an epic. That's not for the faint of heart.
It's not, but it's, it's tremendous. It's tremendous. Oh, what's the one you put up a
came out a few weeks ago, actually. I saw that. Yeah, manored. Hmm. I wonder if that means
tools going to be coming soon. It took like 16 years or some shit between the last two albums.
I'm pretty sure there's a track on the on the new pusafir record. I think it's called Seven.
It's got the word seven in it and the lyrics. I don't know if you've ever listened to a lot of
the pusafir lyrics actually are incredibly insightful like Indigo children and stuff like that.
They really, you can put a Bitcoin lens at the top of them and and you can be like, damn,
is this this guy from the future? Is he a Bitcoiner? Is he just completely prician? Seven one is the name
of the track on the new pusafir album. Yeah, manored is like punk rock slash philosophy.
He's a character. He's out of control. No doubt. What do you wish more people knew about Bitcoin?
I would say that it is superior savings technology. Anyone can use it.
If you just understood that. That doesn't sound cool, man. That just sounds
what do we say? Does it sound sexy at all? Savings? What do I need savings for? I've got my credit card.
Delinquencies are at all time. Hi, let's keep going. Bitcoin is your greatest tool of defense
against the state ran by pedophiles, satanic elites. There we go. There you go.
What does Bitcoin mean to you? Bitcoin at the root is just freedom, liberty, free will.
Like there's this discernment like God put us on the earth. Why do we have all these problems
and different things? He allows you a free will. That's what Bitcoin does as well. But the alternative
system that's being formed, you don't have free will. You have to operate within the system.
You go to the wrong protest. You ate too much meat that week.
You make the wrong post. Your money gets shut down or stipend it. That's what the CBDC's
stablecoin future is. It's convenient for them in a way to practice yield curve control.
But it's just slavery tokens. Bitcoin is the only money you'll be able to hold and move
unmitigated anywhere, whenever you need it. And it's going to continually grow and value
against these other forms of fiat. The state has to debase the money. Otherwise it dies
and defaults and Bitcoin goes to 10 million at minimum.
There you go. That's it. That's all you need to know.
Rustin, thank you so much, man, for spending some scarce time, finite energy,
telling us the tale of how you discovered Bitcoin. It's been an honor and a pleasure.
Dude, thanks, brother. Thank you. Thanks for having me, man.
