Denzel Aberdeen Returns to Florida Gators

Last year, the guard left Florida over name, image, and likeness disagreements right after helping them snag a national title. He entered the transfer portal while waiting on an NCAA waiver for an extra eligibility year, then committed to return on April 10th. At Kentucky, Aberdeen stepped up big, averaging 13.5 points per game, and hitting over 36% from three-point range despite their injury woes. Coach Todd Golden praised his consistency, calling it a huge leap from his bench role in Gainesville. Fans booed when he first bounced, but Golden and the team never held grudges. Stars like Alex Condon and Thomas Hall stuck around, along with bench guys, Urban Clavsar and Isaiah Brown who knew him from before. Golden said it was simple.
