Deebo Samuel's Future Uncertain, Commanders Seek Replacements

0:00On March 29th, Debo Samuel Sr. balled out last season for the Washington Commanders despite their overall struggles. The veteran-wide receiver delivered solid numbers, but it wasn't enough to hit the team's high expectations. Now, a team insider straight up says resigning him just doesn't make sense moving forward. He's still sitting on the free age of market. No team pulling the trigger yet. Projections had him landing around $15 million a year, but that feels out of reach this offseason. Samuel might drop his prize for a legit playoff shot, though the commanders aren't looking like that squad anymore. Washington knows they need more at receiver. They grab Diamy Brown and Van Jefferson Jr., but that's not cutting in. They're eyeing a release from Brandon Ayyuk out in San Francisco and banking on the 2026 NFL draft for long-term fixes. Plenty of cap space left, but pressure's building to spend smart. General Manager Adam Peters is playing a cool, scouting draft talent hard.
