Deafblind Boy's EastEnders Debut

The deaf blind boy played a character named Arlo, a registered blind preschooler in Wednesday's episode. In the storyline, Arlo and his mother visit the home of Lauren Branding and Peter Beale. There, Arlo plays with their son Jimmy, who is also blind, and his mong shares advice on raising a blind child. Harvey's mum Kimberly says she is so proud of her son. She hopes his appearance shows other disabled kids, especially deaf blind ones, that they can achieve anything and helps break down barriers for equal opportunities. Diagnosed as blind at just three months old after a private consultation, Harvey walks with a red and white striped cane and uses British sign, language to communicate.
