This is Corey, here with your quick two-minute update from Durham News Today. A deadly crash shut down part of Interstate 95 North and Cumberland County early Saturday morning. Four vehicles collided near Wade Stedman Road, including a pickup truck, a charter bus with 40 passengers, an Amazon tractor trailer, and an SUV. One man lost his life in the wreck. Troopers from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded around 2.12 a.m. The SUV and pickup had already pulled over from an earlier crash when the bus slammed into them. Moments later, the tractor trailers struck the bus and shoved it into a concrete barrier. 19-year-old Dawson Adams drove the pickup and was rushed to a hospital where he later died. The SUV driver suffered serious injuries and also went to the hospital. One passenger from the bus was treated too, but their condition is not yet known. No other serious injuries were reported from the bus or truck. The pilot caused major delays on the busy highway during the overnight hours.
Troopers say the probe into both crashes continues, with more details expected soon. This episode is supported by our sponsor. When you want calm, do not reach for your phone. Lay back and listen, S-O-L-I, solelypillow.com.
