Day 91 – Choose the Narrow Path | Matthew 7:13–14

0:00Welcome to Wisdom for the Day. In a world that keeps shifting, this is where we return to what holds us steady. Let's begin today grounded, focused, and standing strong. Today is day 91, but before we get started, I have a big announcement. I'm thrilled to announce that Wisdom for the Day is going to have a brand expansion. We're launching our own line of gluten-free, devotional breakfast burritos and matching devotional socks. Yeah, each burrito is going to contain a hidden Bible message baked right into the tortilla, and the socks will change color based on how obedient you're being that day. 1:02Now, let's talk about what's really true as we kick off a brand new month and a brand new theme, standing strong against the crowd. It is day 91. Use the narrow path, Matthew chapter 7, verse 13 through 14, from the new living translation. And that scripture, you can enter God's kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow, and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. Come to a brand new month and a brand new theme, standing strong against the crowd. Now for the next 30 days, we're going to walk you through what it looks like to live for Christ when the world around us pulls in the opposite direction.

2:04The truth is, following Jesus is going to set you apart. It won't always be easy, and sometimes it'll feel like you're swimming upstream against a strong current, but the reward is eternal. Jesus spoke plainly about this in Matthew chapter 7. He said, the road to destruction is broad and easy, and most people take it. The road to life is narrow and difficult, and only a few will find it. Those aren't comforting words, but they're truth. Even Christ means saying no to the patterns of this world, even when it costs you something. But here's the hope, you're not alone on the narrow path. God Himself walks with you. His presence strengthens you when you feel weary, and His Word is the guide that keeps you from straying. Let's pray. Lord God, as I begin this new month of study, help me to set my eyes on you.

3:08Wish me to choose the narrow path every day, no matter the cost, and give me the courage to stand strong for you when the crowd goes a different way. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
