Day 66 – Trusting God’s Timing in the Storm | Ecclesiastes 3:11

We'll be in Ecclesiastes, chapter 3, verse 11, from the new living translation. Hey, it's Saturday, and welcome to Weekends with Lauren. I'm really glad you're here today, and whether you're listening while you're getting ready, or driving somewhere, or just taking a quiet moment for yourself, either way, I'm thankful we get to spend a few minutes together focusing on God. So, as you know, this month we've been talking about standing strong in the storm. And today I want to talk about something that can feel especially hard when life gets really messy.

1:03Waiting on God's timing. So let's get right to the scripture today. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. You know, one of the hardest parts of a storm isn't always the storm itself. Sometimes it's the waiting during that storm. Waiting for answers, or waiting for things to get better. Waiting for God to move in a situation that feels stuck. And if I'm going to be honest, patience isn't always easy for me, at all. When something hurts or feels uncertain, I naturally want it fixed right away. I want clarity, I want the peace, I want the things to make sense right now. But God doesn't always work on our timeline. Ecclesiastes tells us that God makes everything beautiful in its time, not our time, his time. That means when things feel delayed, forgotten, or confusing, it doesn't mean God isn't working. It usually means he's doing something deeper than what we can see.

2:05Sometimes he's growing our faith. Sometimes he's protecting us from something we don't understand yet. And sometimes he's preparing us for what's coming next. And looking back on my own life, there are the moments where I thought God was late. Only to realize later that his timing was actually perfect. The thing I wanted right away would not have been good for me in that moment. And that's the hard truth about storms. They often feel uncomfortable because God is shaping something inside us while we walk through them. If you're in the season of waiting today, I want you to remember this. God is not ignoring you. God is not late. And God is not confused about your situation. He sees the whole picture. And he's still working. Even when the storm hasn't yet passed. So let's pray together. Lord, sometimes waiting is the hardest part of trusting you. Help me remember that your timing is always right. Give me peace while I wait and faith to believe that you are working even when I can't see it. Amen.

3:11And now I want you to do this. Think of one area in your life where you feel like you're waiting on God. Maybe for direction, healing, or clarity. Write it down somewhere today.
